Can you color them if it's the wrong shade?

No. Synthetic hair will melt from the chemicals. You can only color human hair. If you used an herbal or spray on coloring, that might work?

I love these but want to use the clips only, the sides come up though and peak through without the wire. Any recommendations?

I had the same issue. I cut off the wire and moved the clips to the end so no peaking through. I am no seamstress and it was very simple.

I personally do not recommend putting any heat on it being that it is synthetic hair. You’re taking the chance and damaging it but if you have money to buy more if it damages the hair after putting heat on it go for it. I’m waiting until mine gets really bad like scruffy looking lol before I attempt putting any heat on it, but as of right now, I have not tried it
