When I do some wire soldering I need 3 hands, this is the 3rd hand. They seem to be well built and the price was reasonable.

These worked so good for soldering I bought 3 for gifts.

These definitely hold the wires better than my regular bendable “helping hands” clamps as it is much easier to get the wires properly aligned, but getting small wires into position is a little awkward due to the way the clips must be lifted up. I used it to solder a small cable with 6 wires about 0.4mm (26 AWG) and it was very helpful though a bit fiddly.

Makes joining wires easily

I never knew this existed till recently. I burned my fingers soldering wires all my life, or used alligator clips on a stand, which only marginally worked. This holds the wires firmly and keeps my fingers comfortably away from harm

I tested these on 14 AWG wire, which might be more than it is designed for. The wire latches cannot hold the wire hard enough, so when you close them the wire strands will not mesh, but instead it just pushes the wire out of the latches. This might not be the case of thinner gauge wire. What would be nice is if the latches were replaced with thumb screws to hold the wire in place. Works better if you just do a twisted splice as opposed to meshing the strands.

After 50 years of using my home-made device, I doubt that I will every use it again after purchasing this pair of pliers. Ease, precision and flexibility and quality are all built in. A very nice soldering aid.

OK tool, Really not sure I needed it. It does what it says it does, holds two pieces of wire. I don't understand the "lock" lever, it did not come with any instructions. Without touching the "lock" you can continue to squeeze the tool and the device continues to move. The lock lever only allows you to open the jaws? It is well built.
