In case you’re not aware, this is a replica of the classic Eames design Time-Life office chair by Herman Miller. Herman wants around $5000.00 for his chair. Lots of replicas of this chair are available that range in price typically from $1600.00 to $1000.00 down to about $600.00. But since all of them look identical, it’s impossible to tell the difference. I contacted each one of these retailer’s “customer service” departments to find out. What I got was a collection of non-answers in response—a lot of garbled nonsense. Each one of them, however, did tell me to have a nice day! What I particularly enjoyed was the bozo answer from one company to my question about why their chair in brown leather sold at $1000.00 was $400.00 more than their identical chair in white. He said, “that’s because the brown is more expensive than the white.” You think I’m making this up.Given what I feel is the good quality of this chair, I kinda doubt there is much difference between this RIMDOC chair and its more expensive counterparts. The comfort is not of the cushy, skwooshy cheap foam variety. Instead, the dense-foam seat and back provide a level of support I did not expect. I’m able to sit all day at my desk in complete comfort. My back is in heaven.You should buy this chair. And rather than spend your $5000.00 on one of Herman’s chairs, you may want to take a Mediterranean cruise. Bon voyage!

Update 2: The company reached out again to make sure everything had been resolved, which it was. I think they genuinely strive to provide a positive customer experience. It’s unfortunate that the chair was defective because it was a very nice chair and aside from the defect, surpassed our expectations especially for the price.UPDATE: The company did respond and provided a full refund. It was the return process through Amazon that confused things as that’s how a return label was generated. I retract my earlier comment regarding customer service and appreciate the not one but 2 emails I received to apologize and clarify the return / refund status. They have noted the quality issues and hopefully they can avoid them in the future. Other than the defect, it is a really nice chair.The chair was not properly welded under the seat which we discovered after having it for about a week. I was approved for a refund but am expected to pay the shipping. I have contacted the seller as their policy says we would not have to return a defective item but have had no reply. Very disappointed in the poor quality and poor customer service.

I needed a small, low profile (without a high back) chair for my home computer desk. Seat is actually a little wider than I had thought, but it's OK. Love this chair. I am hoping that it doesn't start ripping like previous chairs I had. My husband assembled it in a short amount of time- pretty straight forward instructions.Only complaint- wish the arms rests were a bit longer.
