Good for micro greens
Looks like good medium for growing micro greens. Not a bad value for the amount you get.

Strong Chemical Smell
I just opened the package and noted a strong chemical smell like diesel fuel, as noted in other reviews. Although EnRoot Products LLC notes in the product details that these are organic use certified, there is no mention of this on the product packaging itself. I would hope they would clarify and put minds at ease about safe use of this product.

Most Likely Treated with Unknown Chemicals
If you read the other comments you'll see that many people mention the unusual smell that these jute pads have. Natural jute smells like grass...these pads, which are most likely imported from Southeast Asia or China, smell like they were soaked in diesel fuel or turpentine to kill pests before being imported into the USA. I soaked my pads twice in buckets of water with hydrogen peroxide but the smell just would not come out. The water took on the smell that is in the mats so I opted not to use them at all for growing edible microgreens for human consumption... I threw them in the garbage. I emailed the company twice over a period of 3 weeks asking what the mats were treated with...no response, therefore you, the consumer, deserve to know. Truthful reviews like this are what happen when customer service is non-existant.

Good product.
I bought them for another purpose, as a non toxic mat for my worm farm instead of wet news paper. It works well. The rest of the bag will be used to grow greens in the future.

Wasn't as good as potting soil.
I did not get as good of a yield out of my microgreens with this product as I did with potting soil. It certainly is easy to use, but I'd rather use soil and get a better return.

Good decision
I forgot to water a tray of seedlings, 1/2 the tray was coconut mat and 1/2 Jute. Coconut side died. Jute side looked sad but bounced right back.I find it faster and easier to use than coconut mats. The jute has a nicer texture too. I recommend to get it well saturated the first time- Water well, flip over, water well, push down and let soak for a few minutes to get wet.
