Not sure about these as I have only used one three times and already I have bitten through the rubber. This has never happened with the black guards.

Yes, I also received black instead of clear (back in Nov) - but the black ones are really good (and cost more), so I was happy! They look exactly the same as some much cheaper ones I ordered (from Amazon, but delivered from China) last year - but those ones had very poor adhesive and kept coming off. These are much better.
