Light duty stand and clamps; inexpensive components; nut that holds the pole stripped.
I was hoping this lab stand would replace the rusting one that is in my lab but its quality is much lower than I expected. It may be suitable for light duty applications but it's not as strong and secure as the lab stands I am used to and it’s shorter. This is one of those products that is designed and made as inexpensively as possible to keep its price point as low as possible and therefore it doesn't give me the security and confidence that traditional lab stands do with their beefier components. You know a high quality product when you hold it in your hand and unfortunately this isn't one of them. And on top of everything else, when I went to tighten the nut that attaches the pole to the base, it stripped and is now unusable - requiring me to go buy a new nut which is metric and not an SAE thread.Once I replaced the stripped nut, the stand is functioning fine now. It’s just smaller and thinner than traditional stands with less expensive components.

Very Light Weight lab stand
This is a very light weight, almost flimsy stand and clamps. I have been in a chemistry lab for >30 years and would be hesitant to use this for any important or possibly hazardous chemistry. It does not appear that it would support flasks, funnels, or anything of any weight. The knobs are difficult to tighten to hold the clamp on the post and feel like they might strip if tightened too much. As a stand for home craft work it might be OK.
