Simple and effective, tested with humidity meter
I rarely write reviews, but in this case I feel compelled because there are so many "misinformed" negative reviews. Just to set your expectations and clear up some misunderstandings: this device is simply a box full of silica beads with a heating element and it works effectively. There are no indicator lights for power, dry status, or anything else. No battery either, it "charges" in the sense that the heater dries out the beads. There is a translucent window through which you can see a sample of the beads that are coated with a chemical that changes color when it absorbs water. The chemical is probably cobalt chloride (blue when dry) which absorbs water to form a hydrate molecule (red). These indicator beads are in a small compartment under the window, separate from the bulk of the beads loose in the case which are white (don't open the case or they will spill everywhere). I plugged the device in a 120 Volt outlet and it drew 10 Watts of power as it heated the beads overnight (>12 hrs). I then unplugged the device and placed it in a bin with a humidity meter and a spool of 3d printing filament that I need to keep dessicated. The humidity quickly dropped from 50% (ambient) to 30% in minutes. An hour later the humidity was about 25%, and a couple days later it is at 10%. The device works as good as you could expect. The translucent window is kind of dark making it hard to see the color of the indicator beads, but I don't think the color changing beads is necessarily a good indicator anyway. The humidity of the air in the space you're using the device is what you're concerned about so use a humidity meter and if you see the percent going up, then it's time to recharge. Search for "humidity meter" and you'll find plenty of options like these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CXHS6CYS.

didn't work for me
Admittedly, I live in an area that has had a lot of rain lately. My house is generally at about 60-65% humidity. These arrived bluue (dry) and I put one in the spice cabinet and one in my bedroom. After one day they were both pink (wet), and despite being plugged in for days at a time I could never get either one to dry out again.

Work Fine - Plug In Cable is Convenient - Dry Out Slower
The older models that plugged directly into the wall dry faster, but take up wall space. It's convenient to plug these in anywhere in other outlet or power strip configurations. The trade off is longer dry time.

Don’t buy
Was a sucker for this product.Does not work. You literally have to plug them for days and still doesn’t turn to the dry color. Not really sure if it even works, to be honest. Don’t buy!

Not sure if it's actually doing anything
There is no light or indicator on the product. It does heat up, but that's about it. No fans, no lights, no sounds. I'm not sure if it is broken and just heating up due to power usage, or if that's just what it's supposed to do, but overall I'm quite underwhelmed.

Works well
Bought these to use in a small safe to keep documents dry and free of mold. They are easier to charge than the previous set I had because these have short electric cords for connecting to outlets for charging rather than needing to be plugged into the wall outlet directly. In our humid coastal Georgia climate they become fully saturated relatively quickly but that is what they are supposed to do.

Color doesn’t work as instructions say
It works as I’ve confirmed with humidity gage but color doesn’t change properly, the Remington dryers like these work perfectly, I’ll be changing to them and tossing these.
