Nice package
This is a fun robot that I've been using to jump start my knowledge of ROS.

Great hardware...So so training tutorials.
1st I should say that every single item I was supposed to get was well packed, working great and in the kit. The written and video assembly instructions were better than a few Chinese kits I've done from other manufacturers but still needs work to clarify assembly. The printed illustrations weren't very clear and did little to enhance the text. But with a little trial and error, I figured out why they had it assembled like they did. There are almost no operational instructions. The hardware is quite sturdy and most of it is metal. The Jetson Nano and associated boards were partly cabled and assembled already. The battery was a larger electrical capacity size than what they showed in the specs and pictures. Lasts a bit longer that way and a pleasant surprise. You will likely assemble this kit within an hour or so but sometimes you might have to go back a step or two and use different screw length hardware. I wasn't clear on screw sizes and lengths but eventually figured it out. There was a serious quantity of extra screws in this kit. So if you drop one or two and they go into hiding, you have several others of the same size in the kit. You will need to pay particular attention to the directions in how you face frame parts as neither the text nor illustrations show orientation of holes very well. Also if you get the advanced kit, you will have used all of the 8 USB ports on the board and USB expansion hub. There's no room left for more USB device plugs when the advanced kit is assembled. I'm not sure if you could add a 2nd USB hub or not if you wanted to expand more. The hardware and electrical placement is somewhat left up to you to tie down using provided cable ties. Be careful not to tie arm cables too tightly as they need to move around quite a bit.I've worked in the electronics industry for decades but I've only just begun learning Linux and Python and some AI apps. There are a few tutorials on the Nvidia and Hi Wonder site. Some are simple sample files you can run or incorporate code into your own instructions while others load up as simple games you can do to show off this kit's abilities. While the information is there, if you go looking for it, you may not understand the Chinese English easily on some tutorials and may have to find some non-manufacturer English speaking training sites to really learn the many facets of AI. There is a lot to learn to code and work with Robotics. However till you get there, you can enjoy driving it around and moving it's arm with the remote handle or cell phone app.I've looked up the price of the major items separately online. While the hundreds of dollars might seem high cost, you'll find that the total price really does reflect what those items would cost separately and is actually a better deal bundled into the kit.One thing I've discovered is that this robotic car can really move pretty fast. So caution is advised, as it can run off a table or ledge quickly. Be sure you've given it plenty of room to move safely on the floor. Also the mecanum wheels seem best on hard floors or very low carpet secured to the floor. Deeper carpet or transitioning on\off rugs can cause the mecanum wheels to not drive straight or get hung up. Shag carpet or dust\dirt can easily get caught in the many small parts of the mecanum wheels. This is not an off-road type vehicle and can't tolerate wet surfaces at all either. You won't want to run this car through dirt or anything wet or sticky. The mecanum wheels would be a nightmare to clean out. Also, the chassis is mostly open in the bottom and sides so the electronics is very exposed everywhere. Keep this robot away from wet areas and use only on hard fairly even surfaces. The charger provided is only for charging the battery and only connects to the battery pack charging jack, not the board's power plug. The battery power plug is exposed at the bottom of the chassis. It does not have trickle charging functionality or the ability to run the robot on charger during operation. So you will need to charge the battery and then remove it as soon as the battery is charged and use it only while on battery and not plugged in to the charger. Overcharging this battery or running it down to zero charge can harm it. Be sure to tuck the battery power connector back into the chassis when done charging. Using the robot motors while the charger is plugged in can fry the charger and possibly it's electronics. So plan on charging the robot up completely and then disconnecting it from the charger as soon as fully charged. Use it only till you get low battery warnings and get used to properly shutting Linux down from the screen before shutting it off by switch or you could corrupt the Linux installation. This robot is essentially a computer with motors and sensors added that still has some of the operations and shutdown restrictions any computer would. You'll get some of the tools you need to assemble this kit. You might also want a small pair of diagonal cutters to cut excess cable ties off and maybe some long-nose pliars to get into tight spaces. When you get this kit, most of it is already assembled. Before you start adding on the parts that weren't assembled, check every screw\nut on the kit. I found in shipping, at least a dozen screws (like the wheels) had become quite loose. Since running this robot around will introduce various vibrations and torque, you should recheck this every so often. Also you might have to remove a cover or two that was already assembled to get your initial cabling completed well. Everything is a very close fit into the chassis. Keep cables away from fans and spinning parts (like the lidar) as you route and tie them down. Also route cables away from items that get hot like the battery or processor/fan. You might need to rearrange the velcro mounted battery to keep it from pushing down on USB hub connectors. In all, I consider this kit is a good price for what is provided and the electronics and mechanical hardware is definitely of good quality. But the sort of scattered instructions and tutorials with difficult to understand English is a hindrance to understanding this robot and it's abilities. But in time as my knowledge of AI and robotics expands, this should be a good solid robot for demonstrating and learning.I recommend this product for it's hardware and electronics related to AI. In the future, I will probably replace the Jetson Nano controller with a more capable Jetson Orin NX or AGX. However those controllers are no where near the lower cost of a Nano, so I can understand why the lower Nano board is used in most robot kits like this one. Many people will never need more than the Nano. Provided you don't plan on multiple open apps running at once, the Nano is still much better than the cheaper kits using Raspberry Pis or Arduinos.I can also say I ordered this and another robot from Hi-Wonder and am quite satisfied with this JetAuto Pro Advanced kit. But first I chose another brand of a similar type of robot and an expensive developer kit from another competitor who I mentioned in another review. I found the Hi-Wonder robot to be superior at just getting started using it. Also both of the other company's kit was missing parts and had broken parts it the kit and sent wrong parts to replace the missing/broken ones which took months to get running. I returned their product and purchased from Hi Wonder after that. This robot from Hi Wonder came packed very well, 100% complete, with no missing or broken parts. And after an hour or two of assembly, I was started down the learning path without having to deal with any technical support or hardware issues.
