Fits my thunder thighs more comfortably than regular knee pads, great for layering as beginner
I wear a size 10ish in pants if that is helpful, but everything fits my thighs proportionally very tightly, so I usually struggle to find a good fit. I have found these much more comfortable than regular knee pads (hard shell kind with two straps). I have also worn these underneath those regular knee pads while first learning and the additional padding was very comfortable, not to mention the full coverage sleeve helps keep the straps from cutting in. I am still mostly wearing the hard shell kind as I need the extra protection (still learning and often have to skate on less-than-ideal pavement conditions). I know some "nicer" hard shell knee pads have a sleeve built in but those styles were just too bulky for me when I'm mostly low key street skating, no tricks or skate parks. I like the option to layer these two as needed for the right amount of protection.So far I have not had any issues with these rolling down, but I have only logged less than 10 hours in them - will update this if I have problems in the future. I can definitely see myself reaching for these more frequently as I spend more time skating, particularly when I opt for shorts/skirt instead of pants. Purchased in size L and they fit the right amount of snug (won't move but doesn't cut into legs).
