Useful and inexpensive, but polarity indication is counter-intuitive
This is a handy tester for checking DC voltage ranging from 3 to 70 volts. It’s useful in diagnosing problems with automotive battery charging, starting, and polarity. The spring clamp attaches firmly to the negative battery terminal, or any negative ground point, while the probe makes contact with the positive connection, or can pierce insulated wires. The coiled wire is of sufficient length. The only issue I have is that the polarity is indicated by a red or green LED, rather than a “+” or “-“ voltage readout. The indication is red for correct polarity, and green for reverse polarity, which is backwards for a negative ground system. It’s a good value for the price, but just remember, red is right and green is wrong.
