Tough and powerful
I have beaten the crap out of this thing on sticks and logs in the shallow rivers of Florida, but it keeps ticking along. It has a simple lever to release/lock the angle (which is adjustable 90 degrees), and if you wack something solid enough it'll give a bit without breaking off the whole mount. It's height adjustable too with a thumb screw: the higher it is, the noiser the water, the lower the more chance of hitting bottom.Very impressed with the power; the ability to stealthily push along my 14 ft jon boat at a good 5 knots or more. I rarely go full speed while sneaking for gators, and with two 12v 100ah lipo batteries in series (for 24v), it goes for several hours.Going in reverse is a great feature too.The speed has about 5 sets as you rotate (plus 2 reverse). These softly lock/click as you reach them, and you can conveniently let go and it'll stay in place; both the throttle and the yaw will stay put. This is a transom (rear mount) only. Got it right next to the gas outboard so the pilot can focus on piloting instead of running back and forth to a bow mount trolling motor. Yea there's some agility advantages to a bow mount, but a stern/transom mount keeps passengers away from the pilot and vice versa. This motor accomplishes that.

Best bang for the buck!
I had a Minn Kota Trillin motor 40 (1.99) and it does only half of what this does. The power and speed this provides is something you don’t want to pass up for a small boat. I wasn’t sure at first but glad I did.I have been using for over a month now. Fishing 2-3 times a week. OMG. This just keeps pushing my 14’ Sears boat with 2 of us in it. Still loving it!!!!

Great little electric motor
this little engine came on time and works great!! not too fast but it gets the job done, I use to to go from the dock to the mooring. and to go from the boat to the beach, the charge lasts a long time easily 10 outings until I even had to think about charging. great buy so far!!

Questionable product and business practice
The product was received stuck in one high speed. The five speed forward only worked in one speed. (Also the reverse speeds). The problem was I could not get in contact with Customer Service with the phone # provided in the brochure with the product. Had trouble e-mailing them also. Questionable business practice? The customer service at Amazon was a pain and useless.

Lots of torqe
I upgraded from a Minn Kota 40 lb thrust to this one and there is a world of difference. Speed 4 on this motor is a little faster than speed 5 on the Minn kota. On speed 5 this thing gets moving pretty good for my small boat and could move a much larger boat. Happy with the purchase and to be able to have the battery indicator lights. The telescoping control handle is nice as well although this is a 30 in shaft instead of 36 it does sit lower off of the transom but works just fine.

Powers a 24’ pontoon boat with ease.
Amazed. This motor pushes my 24’ pontoon boat across the lake with amazing power. Now, I’m not the type of reviewer who writes a review that reads; “Looks good but haven’t used it yet.” My review is based on 3 years of use. After three years the speed adjustment feature of 5 forward and 3 rear speeds has died. Now I have only 3 forward and 1 reverse. I must admit the motor is store, exposed to the elements for the 3 years. That probably has some affect on losing the speeds.Overall, it does a great job, if mounted on a smaller boat, you might tow small kids on skis…well, that might be stretching it but it is powerful. I have seen this exact motor in both 12 and 24v so make sure you select the right one.

Great for small lakes and small boats
My dad loves this motor for his little dingy, so he’s flying across the water, but at a reasonable speed.
