Excellent Grip, Balance, fit and finish! 10 STARS!!!!!
4.5 " blade is literally RAZOR SHARP right out of the box. Fit and finish is flawless. Weight and balance/ergonomics are excellent. 420HC heat treated steel is a very good working steel that holds an edge for a good many uses, yet is easily sharpened quickly. The sheath provided is made very well and made to last for years. This is not a large knife but rather a good everyday carry knife---suitable for a wide variety of tasks. It's lightweight and sleeker than the big brother 119. I consider it to be a non-folding 110, albeit with a 1/2" longer blade, and a better than average blade tip for piercing tasks. This is an extremely practical and easy to carry and use knife. I'm very happy with this purchase. This made in the USA and the quality shines throughout the knife! You can pay more for a knife, but you might not come close to the great quality of a genuine USA made Buck knife!

VERY NICE, FINE QUALITY, AND SMALL!
In every way imaginable, this is a very nice knife. It came razor sharp, with good geometry. The fit and finish is very nice as well. The grip feels good, too. This is a miniature version of the famous Buck 119, and it is pretty darn small. Because I have fairly large hands, this knife feels more like a letter opener to me. While this would be a great knife for many, it's just too small for me to use comfortably. The accompanying leather sheath is also very nice. It's well made. The knife is a good value all the way. Just keep in mind that it is quite small and may not be a good fit for those with large hands. God bless America, and stay safe!

Love this little knife!
This is a great size for everyday outdoors carry. Not to big, not too small, Goldilocks right. Came VERY sharp out of the box and only took a little fine honing to get it scary-sharp. Handle feels great in my large-size hands, and is very comfortable to hold. Sheath is also typical Buck, good quality and holds securely when snapped. I expect it will hold up well, as is typical of USA-made products in the Buck line, and am very happy with my purchase. I call this my mini-General, and have carried it daily for work (Land Surveying) since I got it. I love the classic look and feel, as the full size model 120 General was my first “real knife” purchase as a kid in the eighties, and this little 117 touched a very nostalgic nerve for me. This has the same proportions, just scaled down to a more reasonable size. The only downside is the price, just a little more than I’d like at $75. $60 would be perfect, $65 still reasonable. The Pro version with upgraded micarta handle and S35VN steel would already be in my cart if it were priced at $130. I guess inflation has hit everywhere, thanks Joe!

A beauty, no buyer's remorse whatsoever.
Very nice knife, especially for males with hands on the smaller size. It's a beauty with attention to detail build and finish. I've owned the same Buck 110 since the early 70's and it's still in great shape with a buffing of the brass every couple of years...even the wood is still as new ! Buck isn't cheap, but they last. A plus, the sheath was much better than expected !

Very Cool Old School.
Bought this in a moment of nostalgia. My dad's hunting/hiking knife was from this series. The black phenolic and aluminum handles excell in both form and function. Very good steel for real life use. Wicked sharp right out of the box. Very nice high quality leather sheath. Comfortable and nimble in the hand. A lot of value for the money. And made in the USA! Delighted with my purchase.

Top choice
This is the top choice in bucks general purpose small knives, a bit bigger that the 102 and a bit shorter than the 105 with a wider blade. Priced about the same as either and much more of a knife IMO.

Top Messer für die Jagd, durch den Hohlschliff sehr scharf. Man kann sich damit rasieren. Der 420 HC Stahl ist hervorragend und sehr einfach wieder auf die ursprüngliche Schärfe zu bekommen. Buck typische sehr gute Verarbeitung
