I have had a Nastech for 8 or more years and it's wonderful, 4, a bit pricey, rechargeable batteries last for ages between charges and bags no problem to fit so long as you don't overfill them. I had a cog break through misuse but unscrewed the mechanism and was able rotate the drive wheel half a turn and use an undamaged part, works like new. First class product, wouldn't be without one.

I have had the Nastech Auto bin for about 10 years and I have always got on really well with it.that is until my in laws came to stay with me and i think the bin got very confused with the so many hands using it:-(anyway now we've gone and lost the battery cover......... so surprise surprise the batteries keep falling into the bin and its a nightmare.... and sellotape just wont do.so if you know where i can buy the battery cover (only) then please get in touch via emailing me on [email protected] you

A brilliant bin. Wouldn't change it for anything. Have had every other sort (over 40 years, in the kitchen) and this is simply the best. Have had it for over 3 years with no problems.

This bin is fantastic, though I think mine may be the bigger version (50 or 60 litres). Great shape and you don't have to touch it. Why do people buy Brabantia????? Only had to change the batteries once in 3 years. Everyone should have this bin - no doubt

This bin is a lesson on how to overcomplicate a simple device.At first it is an impressive kitchen gadget. Visitors are amazed and envious as they keep swishing their hands over the front to make it open magically.The novelty soon wears off, however, and little things start to annoy. Like the lid popping up every time you walk past it. When you do want the lid to lift, there is a slight delay when you want to throw something in the bin while your hands hover over the front.We ended up leaving the lid open most of the time - which defeats the purpose of the automatic opening.In comparison to the size of the bin, the opening is smallish.It is a pig to attach new bin liners. There is a plastic collar which sits inside which you have to fold the edge of the liner over. When the bin is full it is tricky to extract the collar. You have to put your hands inside the bin to grab the collar - pull it up and then unwrap the liner from the collar.Lastly, we managed to break the little plastic gear cogs inside when the lid was pushed down a bit fiercely. I doubt if the cogs are available as spares.I'm going back to a pedal bin. Much simpler.

I would not buy this bin again. The sensors and/or switches keep failing and I have had three replacements. Now failed again. Not going to spend £34 on a lid that will probably fail again. Back to a pedal bin for me.

I have been using these bins for the past 6 years they are fabulos! Best hygiene ever.The product looks good, batteries lasting for a long time perhaps the price is a little to high however you get what you pay for it.
