Yes you can sit on it. It is pretty solid, however children jumping on and off it probably wouldn’t be a good idea.

I sit on it occasionally and I'm about 85kg. It's not really designed for it though, so I'd probably invest in something that's also designed as a seat should I want to use it more frequently. It has also warped quite a bit, which doesn't inspire confidence.

Is this strong enough to store wood logs?

The base is made from the same strip and slats as the sides and lid, so not strong enough for logs. I wouldn't let my 20kg four year old get in and jump about in it!
