Best Low Priced Garden Tool Ever…
For all I know, there are dozens of vendors selling a similarly designed weeding tool that would work as well as this one. But this was the one I gambled on and mostly because I could add a long handle to it to save my back. The gamble paid off! It worked exactly as advertised and if it were to break tomorrow, that’s probably okay! I’ve already gotten my money’s worth out of it. Hopefully it will last for years! It has an odd size socket for the handle so I ended up taking one from an old rake. After cutting the tapered end off, I used a spoke shave to pare the working end of the handle to fit the tool. Secured it with a screw and it worked like a charm. One cautionary note, if you are working in an area with lots of small roots in the ground, wear safety glasses. The tines will catch on the roots and at some point will release. When they do, the resulting spring action will pelt you with dirt, stones, whatever’s there. I learned that the hard way! Now you won’t have to…

Weak Tines
Tines are fragile. If you are pulling weeds, you need stronger tines.

Great for flower beds but not around bushes with surface roots even if they are small roots!
Today was the first time I had used my new tool and I was so hoping that this would help with the task of weeding. It was great in the flower bed but then I moved to another bed that had flowers and azaleas. Whenever this tool pulled on some small surface roots, it didn't take long for one or the tines to bend then break completely off soon followed by another one. I was heart broken because it worked beautifully in the other bed. If you only have flowers where you're going to use this tool then buy it! It works wonderful! Beware of plants with surface roots. Even if the roots are small!

This thing is a brute!
My wife and I are currently re-landscaping the entire property after having a tree removed and a new retaining wall and fence installed. My first impression with this item was, "Do I need a license or permit for this thing?" It doesn't care much about yanking grass and weeds from the soil, but it's best if the soil is at least moist. It does not come with a handle, so use care in selecting one. Make sure it will fit the socket in the head of the rake. The one I bought wasn't quite right, but filling the gaps between the handle and the rake socket with JB-Weld took care of that problem. The rake eagerly pulls out the grass clumps and weeds with no problem. Highly recommended for clearing grass and weeds prior to re-landscaping!

Surprised
You will have to furnish your own handle. Was surprised at its construction. Looked like pointy sheet metal welded onto a metal bar. I just didn’t think it would work but it did. My soil is extremely dry and it worked great on thrashing out the weeds and dried grass that was root stuck. Watch the video to get the back and forth technique down. It quickly became one of my favorite tools. Be careful though the tines can get stuck on a weed and flip lots of dirt into your face. I’ve now bent one of the tines and it’s not such a smooth process. I may have to pull out some tools to straighten it……or not. I do recommend this product for big areas. I will soon be ordering the smaller one for detailing areas.
