We're Frequently Asked ... Does Cold-Brew-Coffee not just taste like cold coffee? By no means - otherwise Cold-Brew would hardly be so popular in the US and Australia. The secret: The aromatic coffee oils and the caffeine dissolve even at low temperatures, acid, and bitter substances, however, only in the heat. The result is a refreshing, fruity drink that still tastes of coffee, but is much less sour and bitter. Where is the difference between "full immersion" production and cold drip? Cold-Brew can be produced in two ways: full-immersion and cold-drip. A full immersion, simply dissolves ground coffee in cold water, let it stand for 10 to 15 hours and filter it through. In itself, a good method - but it is difficult to find the right coffee-water ratio and good extraction time. In addition, because of the long extraction time, some bitter substances and acid dissolve again. Cold Drip offers a whole range of advantages. First, the dripping causes a physical adhesion and thus attracts significantly more coffee oils with it. Second, you can hardly go wrong. Third, it does not take 15 hours but only 2-3. How To Drink Cold Brew Coffee? Cold Brew is much more versatile than hot-brewed coffee. Classically, you drink it cold on ice, like with a dash of milk or fresh lemon juice. But he also does great in long drinks: he harmonizes wonderfully with Tonic Walter, but also with Licor 43, as "Black Russian" or Coffeepirinha. Cold Brew can also be easily heated as a digestible alternative to hot coffee. Why the DRIPSTER? The DRIPSTER is the Cold Brew Dripper for the home. It is compact, high quality looks good - and most importantly: it fulfills its purpose just like the big and much more expensive dripper.

Not built to last
First and foremost, the unit produces really nice coffee so no complaints there. It also looks incredible. My issue is that with regular use the mesh eventually becomes blocked and I've not found a way to clean it to the point where it works as it did when I first started (Tried dishwashers, descaling solutions and running hot water through to no avail). It never fully blocks, but the throughput slows to the point where a 2 second drip rate will eventually fill the infuser and overflow if left unattended. If the mesh was replaceable somehow this would be a 5 star product. Unfortunately it's very nice coffee machine that eventually turns into a bucket.

Great little cold brew apparatus
Hi have just started testing out my new "Dripster" - and I must say I'm very impressed. I've followed their set -up and brewing instructions, and have been rewarded by a couple of very delicious cups of cold-brew.I took a lot of time to deliberate over my choice, as I knew I liked the "immersion" style cold-brew on a muggy summer morning, but the promise of a cleaner, more nuanced cup drew me into the realm of "drip" style. I can now safely say I'm a convert, and do not regret paying a bit more for a drip style apparatus. For those of you doing comparison shopping, the thing I noticed in Dripster's reviews was that no one seemed to be complaining about the drip stopping mid-process - which is almost unique for this kind of coffee-maker. I don't know for sure, but I have a hunch that the inventors spent a lot of time fussing over exactly that issue. They have chosen for their reservoir and valve what appears to be a very hydrophobic plastic - so the issue of water's surface tension resisting the reduced pressure head as the reservoir empties is much less of an impediment. Of course, this is a guess - but I do observe that water beads up on the surface, and does not spread out at all. regardless of the reason why - the drip rate is good, and pretty constant throughout the process.I also like that they have a handle that extrudes outside the plane of the rest of the "column", for easy drip rate adjustment (I used a metronome app on my phone for easy calibration of drip rate). I would add, though, that I think that this is also the Dripster's weak point, as it seems to me that this handle and the valve portion are pretty fragile and would not survive an interaction with a small child, or falling on a granit counter for example. It ain't stainless steel, shall we say. Finally, the coffee it yields is sediment-free (at least with my grinder) - and I'm using a grind a bit finer than that that I usually use for a French Press. So, in short, the whole system is very simple, easy to adjust, and gives great, sediment free coffee. It seems a bit on the fragile side, but that's not to be unexpected given the function. Nice work, Dripster !

Cold & Delicious
The product arrived quickly and did not disappoint. The whole contraption sits neatly on my kitchen table and doesn't take much space. The coffee is a lot more flavourful than when brewing it hot. Before buying I was concerned about the dripping mechanism but it works fine.If you're a fan of cold coffee then give this a try.

Love this contraption
I bought this back in April and have used it almost every day. I really like the cold brew it produces. I use it with normal and decaf ground coffee and make batches of each. It doesn’t take as long as the ‘overnight in a cafetiere’ method either so it’s great. If you use too fine a grind it will clog (understandably) so you must make sure you use about the same courseness as you would a French press / cafetière. Also love feeling all scientific as it drips away in my kitchen! Very cool

Always wash immediately after use
This makes good cold drip. It is a bit finicky to dry that drip rate and it’s not very precise, meaning if you adjust the drip at all between Batches you may not end up with exactly the same result. The fine wire mesh used for the drip apparatus must be washed immediately after use. I let it sit a few hours and it has been irreparably changed (you can see a coffee stain color).
