Granddaughter very pleased with her gift. Appears to be well made.

Only had it one day but looks good and 10 year old grand-daughter loves it.

My daughter loves her beam and loves practicing her routines on it, however we have noticed that the foam on the beam has went flat already (my daughter is a petite 8 year old weighing just 3 stones so I would suggest that the foam being used is not that great). I would also suggest putting a thin rug under the beam as I think the hinge may damage wooden/laminate flooring as the hinge rests on the floor when the beam is in use. The beam is stable enough if used on a solid surface, but will topple to the side if used on any kind of soft matting thicker than 5-10mm.Like another reviewer has mentioned that the hinge corners/edges can be quite sharp so may be worth filing them down.I would suggest buying the 8ft beam rather than the 7ft beam, as the extra length makes all the difference.....no innuendo implied ;)

My tall slim 10 year old has mixed feelings about this beam. Sometimes it works fine. But it has a tendency to wobble and fall over as it has some rubber feet on the bottom which raise it slightly from the ground. I guess this means it is unlikely to damage your floor. However, it also makes it a little unstable. I am wondering about modifying it by screwing some board or something to the bottom so that it doesn't tip over

How much fun can a 9 year old girl have on a plank of wood covered in suede? Tons of fun, actually. She loves it. So I'm happy. Also happy that this folds away, but the hinges do mean that the beam moves a little in the middle. This works well as a practice beam for the home. A serious gymnast would probably require something a little more steady and secure.
