Work as advertised
We have somewhat high nitrates in our tap water, so have a very hard time controlling nitrates in our 60 gallon aquarium. These baskets do exactly what I wanted them for and the price was good.I've tried putting pothos in the aquarium previously, but our Buenos Aires Tetras munch all the roots within 1-2 days. These baskets seem to be working to protect the roots and hold the plants in place. I have a rimmed tank, so needed to use the included suction cups, which are holding well. My first attempt to stick the baskets to the back wall of the tank didn't work, but pushing a little harder has resulted in a nice stick for the past several days. So far I've put 4 large pothos starts (about 1 foot long with large root system) into 2 of the baskets. I'll monitor my nitrates over the next few weeks, and if still increasing, will add another basket once my plants are big enough to take more cuttings.Update 1/31/24 - The pothos are working well to control nitrates. The suction cups on these aren't great, and I've had the cages fall off several times. One of the cages is particularly problematic, and it could be due to its proximity to the filter outlet. I find if I don't get the cages back up within 24 hours, the Buenos Aires Tetras will eat the unprotected root balls. The pothos don't seem to bothered when this happens, and once protected go right back to pushing out roots. If these continue to fall off every few weeks, I'll revise my rating down to 3 stars.

Love these! We have giant cichlids who don't appreciate plants. This solves the problem
I bought a spider lily and something else from the pond store; 2 small plants were easily divided into 8 different plants; I used a plain paper towel to line the baskets because I was using the Fluval fishtank soil in the baskets; the baskets sit on the rim of the tank in the back. We have these on the backs of our 75s; one has a 5 year old Jack Dempsey and the other has a 3 year old albino Oscar and his buddy the giant Pleco; both tanks have nice SunSun cannister filters but with the addition of the water plants on top you just get that really crisp, clean, gorgeous water. It also adds character to the tank itself with plants growing out of the tanks. Plan to try a pothos the same way, though we've had them growing in a wicked planter that dips into the tank and it wasn't entirely happy. These are well-made and small enough they don't take up a lot of space or look ugly hanging back there. The little gadgets that slide in to attach the baskets to the siding aren't quite big enough for the monster tanks BUT I just pushed the glass lid up against them and they stay put. I bought one set, liked them so much I bought another for the Jack. He HATES plants but has agreed the black baskets can stay. The live plants reduce the brown gunk (that has a name, but I can never remember it and I'm too lazy to look it up) and the plants thrive on the extra nutrients. Pond stores have cool varieties but just remember the baskets are small; you'll need to go in and split the plants as they grow, and either get them new black baskets, or share with a friend. All in all, I love this idea and I love the implementation and my fish say "thanks, dude!"

Gives a stylish look to a aquarium
Fits in the turtle aquarium nice and gives it a nice look for holding plants. Plants sit in the box nice and my turtle cannot beat them up anymore. Suctions cups do come off on occasion but only cause we have a destructive turtle

Works great and good value
I saw similar products in Facebook ads but the websites wanted to much money for them. People buy bulk cheap and drop ship them for waaay to much money. So I checked Amazon and they were a fraction of the price and came with plenty of mounting accessories! I highly recommend to add extra greenery to go your fish tank. Great value!!!

Made well; measurements are inaccurate
Seems to be made well, but the measurements are not accurate. I really needed them to be at least 1 inch in width, but even the largest ones are right at 7/8" - not even measuring from the outside edge to the outside edge makes them a whole inch. Hoping the suction cups will hold since the clips are too narrow.

Keeps plants from sinking.
I love these plant holdersI use them to keep roots in water in aquarium. No more floating around or sinking.

Design flaw and weak suction cups. Almost killed my fish.
At first I really liked the design and thought it would be a great way to close the gap near the back of my tank. First, the hooks did not fit the tank. I measured the plastic trim around the top of my tank and it was supposed to fit over it. It didn’t. I thought okay, no big deal I’ll just use the suction cups. Well I put the suction cups on and stick it to the glass. Maybe an hour later I found two baskets had fallen off and one of my catfish inside. The gaps in the basket were big enough to get his fins and tail stuck. It took me 15 minutes to get him out, unfortunately he had a lot of damage to his fins. The suction cups were not strong enough to hold the basket up. Horrible design, either make the baskets lighter or include bigger suction cups and bigger clips that are actually the size they need to be.
