Great deal.
Love this!!! I use it daily to make homemade sodas or just to drink the carbonated water. It's easy to use. Doesn't take up a lot of counter space and is cheaper than soda stream.

Useless trash
This soda maker is a complete piece of garbage. Immediately after hook-up the valve was leaking, when I inserted the bottle the CO2 gas was coming out of the prong, but it would not carbonate the water because there was no seal even if it was screwed in as tight as possible. Completely useless as is, and if you use a retrofit hose to connect the carbonator to a CO2 tank so you don't get screwed royally buying the small bottles, FORGET IT, it's absolutely impossible to reach the valve with the hose connector.I had high hopes for this product because I believed I would finally get rid of the ultra-expensive, overrated but really poor quality Sodastream, but unfortunately this product failed miserably.A real shame, because the bottles with the stainless steel bottom and cap are very nice and cost a fraction of the idiotic bowling-pin shaped from Sodastream, which I absolutely hate because they fall all the time and in addition cost more than double even if they are the stupidest bottles ever made.To conclude, this is definitely in my Top 3 list of the worst products I bought from Amazon so far.Save your money and time, DO NOT buy this product!!!

Built more solidly than SodaStream and works with their old canisters and bottles
The SodaSpark feels more solid than my old SodaStream. I have limited wrist mobility so it's a little harder to screw the bottle in than the tilting SodaStream. I just have to raise the device up higher on the shelf. It autoreleases the pressure slowly instead of all at once when you tilt the bottle out. And it just stops releasing CO2 if the pressure gets too high because you are pressing it too fast. The SodaStream just dumps it to the air.To get the aggressive bubbles I like, I have to wait a little longer between presses of the button. So SodaSpark will probably be more efficient at CO2 use too.I do love that it uses SodaStream's old CO2 canisters and plastic bottles. It makes me mad that SodaStream did that to make more money, and make business more difficult for the competitor supply companies that have popped up.

Leaks and wastes CO2
This appeared at first to be perfect for my needs. I lost my last SodaStream in my recent move and in trying not to support &eno¢ide any more than my taxes already do, I was looking for an alternative. My old SS bottles were compatible, but the functioning of the valve is different on this device. When you hold the button down it injects the CO2 into the water, but unlike the SS, when you release the button it releases the pressure from the bottle, so each new "pump" starts from zero psi instead of the previously accumulated pressure level and then builds from there.I thought that design choice was pretty wasteful of the CO2, but I found that I could hold the button down for a bit to keep the gas from releasing and then start the next cycle with a quick release before all the pressure bled off. This worked for about a week or two, but now when I hold the button down after the pressure has equalized, the gas continues to leak out, so now there's no way to keep from wasting the CO2, which is the most expensive part of the system. I don't know if they will all do this eventually or whether mine was just a faulty unit, but the design is substandard, IMHO, and leaking/wasting CO2 appears to be a problem with this model/brand.I will be returning this unit and trying a different brand/model recommended here by another reviewer who also had a leaking issue.Really too bad, as the bottles were actually very nice and a better form factor, IMHO.
