Helps make great coffee!
Excellent coffee grinder. I just have to get used to the fact it's a little messy.

High quality flat burr grinder
This Moccamaster KM5 flat burr grinder makes wonderful coffee. It does produce very uniform grinds. I don’t have any problem with static or grounds flying around, it’s all completely contained. It’s simply an outstanding coffee grinder and a case of “you get what you pay for”.

Super quality, super results
Out standing in my book, next to No Loose Grounds on the countertop, because of clever thoughtful design. Much less noise than some grinders I have owned. Worked perfectly out of the box, well packed. The flat burr grind has been the quality improvement I had always hoped for, with very uniform size and fewer fines than with conical burrs I have always used. Footprint size very compact, hefty. A very definitive correct step to get coffee to taste like you've wished. I do stuff a paper coffee filter in the glass grounds container. I've noticed paper is a real static killer, and results in the ability to pour my fresh grind immediately into a container I use for fresh grounds.

Do not purchase this paperweight
Deeply disappointed received January 26, 2025 but didn’t start using until February 28, 2025 because I was waiting on the matching moccamaster coffee machine. On March 13, it stopped grinding coffee. Opened it up as directed per their video instructions and cleaned. Still not working, could not grind a single bean of coffee. The grinder was used only once per day at a cost of $339.00. Contacted the company service department out of Oregon and they gave me the address to ship it to for repair. That cost $83.00 to ship. So now I have an investment of over $400.00 in a grinder that doesn’t work. Previously used a coffee grinder that cost less than $40.00 that was still going after6 years. What poor durability I would not recommend customer service is poor and only communication is via email to reiterate to watch their video on how to clean the grinder. Value way overpriced lasted less than 30 days. I never write negative reviews on items because I accept that if I pay little I will receive little. Wow was I surprised now I also have to listen to my wife complain about my selection forever. Hope this helps others from selecting this overpriced paperweight.

So far, so good
Since we recently purchased a Moccamaster coffee maker and love it, I decided to get the grinder to match and they look spectacular together. The grinder seems to be a step up from our Baratza Virtuoso. It also produces a more consistent grind which has resulted in an elevation of the quality of our morning brew, at least IMO. For those who don't like having to hold the button while it's operating, I say "forget it." It's really not a bother because it grinds fast -- about four times faster than our old grinder. Two things I'd point out though. The static is real and a problem IMO. I use a couple spritzes of water on the beans before grinding and that does the trick. I know not everyone agrees with this technique, but it works and I doubt that much water will destroy the burrs. The bean hopper has a very low slope and some of the beans get stuck and require a bit of coaxing. They really should fix this on future models. Again, not a huge deal. I hated the Ode grinder for that very reason, but don't seem to mind it now. Could be because of the clear hopper so you can see what's happening.I think it's a very solid and very heavy grinder and would buy it again.I got it on a BF deal, but then it got even cheaper the next week. I'm glad I got it and do think it's elevated the coffee from our Moccamaster.

Love it
Sept 2024 - I just ordered this grinder from Amazon last week and have only been using it for about 4 days now - however I really like it. I had been using the Fellow Ode grinder for last couple years - which a friend had given me. It worked fine - liked the design, was fairly quiet however it had many things I didn't like about it.Moving to this new grinder is like night and day - some of the benefits over my old grinder:1. Match my moccamaster brewer - so they are cohesive.2. Much larger hopper that has enough weight from the beans to ensure the fall down into the grinder without always having to be pushed like my older grinder3. About the same noise level - maybe a little louder but not much4. Solid build - high quality feel to it5. best of all - super clean output - my old grinder did not have a good seal between the grinder shoot and the container so my counter top was always getting coffee grounds on it - hated that! This grinder has a nice tight seal between the rubber container top and the chute - so you don't get all kinds of debris flying everywhere making for a messy counter - zero debris = clean counter top!My old grinder had an auto stop feature - but this grinder requires you to keep pressing the power button to grind - that's fine with me - I kind of enjoy watching the grounds filling the container especially at the high rate this machine grinds. The grounds are all very uniform also - very consistent.

Great coffee grinder
This coffee grinder is just perfect. I have it set to just under 6 grind. I use this for my Moccamaster brewer, and it grinds it for a tasty pot of brewed coffee every time. It's a little loud while grinding, but not too loud. I don't mind holding the grind button while it grinds (15 seconds or so), but some people say they don't like that. The beans I use are not very oily, and it works great - so not sure how it performs with oily beans. I order coffee from a local coffee roaster, so the beans I use are very fresh. There is a bit of static in the glass grounds container, but that doesn't bother me either - I just wash the glass grounds container every time I use it. It's always clean and ready to go each morning! I highly recommend this grinder.
