CangshanL1 Series 1026900 German Steel Forged 7" Santoku Knife, White

Such an interesting combo. Japanese Santoku, from German steel made in China? I never knew. Never having heard of Cangshan before, googling them shows that they are sold at Costco and Reddit… has varying feedback.We’ve been using this knife near daily for a bit now, it’s my roommates current go-to knife. Trying to be objective/and per feedback, the knife is well balanced, sits comfortably in the hand, and has kept its edge, so far it’s performing. For the price it seems like a fair deal. (I still personally prefer my smaller 4” nakiri but I *know* I’m strange here and have kind of small thin hands.)I think you can probably find better in this range with some digging/sales, though I can see the aesthetics here being a strong selling point. (I know how uncommon/rare white handles are.) Visually I think my only squick is the weird gear-y looking accent in the middle of the handle. I think my roommate *likes* that bit, but otherwise said “I’m not a fan of the stark white look.”Not perfect, but good enough.

The knife was placed on May 1st and successfully arrived on June 5th. If you require a prompt delivery, this may not be the most suitable option for you. However, I must mention that it is exceptionally sharp and functions flawlessly. Its blade is designed with ridges to prevent food from adhering while slicing.One aspect I particularly appreciate about this product is its comfortable handle, which allows for a firm and easy grip.It's important to note that this item is not dishwasher safe. To clean it properly, just wash it with warm water and a small amount of detergent. Take care to rinse it thoroughly, and dry it off with a towel afterward.

Beautiful looking design and look. The feel is fantastic as the knife is perfectly balanced and the handle is perfectly designed for a very comfortable hold. The feel of the knife is that of high quality material and excellent workmanship. The edge of the knife is very sharp, it slices through meats effortlessly and chops fruits and vegetables ever so easily. This knife is above all other knives I have owned before. I am replacing my Henckel knives with this knife and a 3 piece set that I ordered but haven't used yet.Nothing to dislike.

This knife for one is extremely sharp. I don’t know how well it does with a knife sharpener, because I haven’t needed one. The handle is comfortable and has an amazing weight distribution throughout the whole knife. It’s made of nice quality materials, not losing it’s sharpness quick. I’m not even mad at how long it took to get this (a month) because you tell it was made by hand and with love. An absolutely beautiful knife especially for those who love their kitchen utensils and always want the best (ME).

I like the look and the shape of this knife. It also comes nicely boxed so it would make a nice gift.I am a home cook. I do a lot of chopping of vegetables for soups, sheet pan meals , salads, and stir fries. I like a good knife in this style for chopping my vegetables. This one is easy to hold and feels great in my hands. I was just suprised that it was not very sharp when I received it. All of the other knives I have ordered have come quite sharp. This one was fairly dull. I washed it and then started chopping carrots, celery and onion for soup. Not sharp. Then I tried it while cutting watermelon in chunks and that wasn't easy to cut either with the blade. Just not sharp. Again, the feel of the knife is good. It looks good and I like it. But I need to go sharpen it.I hope you find my review helpful.

Overall nice design and functionality. Sharp blade can cut through multiple veggies and fruits, as well as poultry, fish and meats. Food doesn't stick to the blade, which is very convenient. The ergonomic handle makes cutting a breeze. Just remember to hand clean!

Perfect all around knife from blade sharpness to weight and hand grip feel.I sliced through tomatoes, mushrooms and ham with no effort at all.It's a Japanese style, German steel knife and made in China. It's higher priced but worth it.

This knife is very sharp and balanced evenly. It cuts with little effort and made very solid. Definitely going to be one of my main knives used in the kitchen.
