I bought this for my eight year old son on my husband’s recommendation. He tore through it and wants to read the rest so I guess it’s pretty good!

Jennings has delighted since the dawning of the jet age. A delight by Anthony Buckeridge who earned £150 - no not per book for his entire output. How much does JK Rowlings receive? The charming experiences either from real life or closely associated with it from an era when little things pre phones pre apps pre computers were in the imagination of 10/11 year olds. Whether today's youngsters can be made to appreciate it is still a question.

I got this book for my birthday and the moment I picked it up I couldn't put it down until the last sentence. My favourite bit was when Mr. Wilkins got stuck in the fire escape. With Jennings sidekick /best friend Darbishire they make a fantastic duo. Since I started reading boarding school stories I've always wanted to go to one. This book is absolutely wizard.Nuala age 9

My older sister read this - and the rest of the series - to me when I was ten and we laughed ourselves sick. Now my own children laugh themselves sick over the exploits of Jennings, Darbishire, Bod, Mr Wilkins, etc. The comedy of misunderstandings doesn't date, and the slang is truly hilarious. If there's a funnier book out there I'd love to read it.

I loved Jennings as a child and I have read this with two Dyslexic boys who find reading a challenge. It is good to have something which makes us laugh and is good, innocent fun. It also extends their vocabulary.

Bought this for my 8 year old nephew who struggled with some of the arcane prep school terms and concepts.
