Quilt

Great album; very west coast sixties style.

A nice reprise 50 years on from the summer of love.

I liked it on first play, after successive plays it bored me, the voice is annoying after a while. The idea is good, trying to create the late 60's love in scene/hippydom, but not enough variety

Heard a track from their upcoming '14 release, so I thought I'd see what else the band had put out. This one is spot-on. Every song is a good listen. Looking forward to the new album, but very much enjoying the process of absorbing this one. (Update: This is turning out to be one of the best albums I've heard in a long time...the new album has since been released, and it's great, but I'm still groovin' on this one right now...can't seem to get enough.)

I just discovered Quilt, and it is a wonderful album. Listening, I hear echoes of the San Francisco Sound: Moby Grape, It's a Beautiful Day, Quicksilver Messenger Service, and the early Jefferson Airplane.Listening to this music takes me back to '67 and The Summer of Love. Quilt has recreated the sound and feel, the attitude and sense of a seminal era of American music. I will be listening to this for a long time.I recommend this highly, very highly!

The name of the band--Quilt--is perfect for this self-titled album: the dreamy, entrancing soundscapes are beautifully joined together in a way that makes every song on this album just work. It's hard to do it justice in words (and I for one am sure I'm not doing it justice), but the songs are put together in a manner that makes you feel like the artists have taken complex patterns and found their perfect harmonizing arrangement. I've found I love this album while reading, walking, hanging out, riding my bike... the music just puts me in a good state of mind to enjoy and focus on whatever I'm doing. But don't think for a minute that this is "background" or "mood" music; it's WELL worth just putting on the headphones, sitting down on a comfy couch, and falling into.

Absolutely beautiful and cerebral. This one will be a frequent visitor to my turntable, and if you've taken the time to dig the samples and read the reviews, it's inevitable; you must have this record too.

i don't like many new sounds, but this is amazing!that said, if you're into TMZ this might not be relevant to your coffee shops & gas prices.
