Not for colds
This is strictly a cough medicine. Cough suppressant, expectorant and tylenol, basically. Nothing for head congestion or sore throat per se. It's like calling Tylenol a sore throat medicine.

Good for those who need it and can tolerate the taste of it
Type You Nighttime Liquid Cold & Flu Medicine.I am grateful for this option not only for those with diabetes but for ones with other issues as well.We have one in the house with high blood pressure and he can not take much over the counter but I did ask if this would work and since my doctor said yes it is one we will have on hand for him.Myself I need to watch my sugar intake not due to diabetes but another health issue. Now the good thing with this product is that it worked for a recent awful summer cold that I had.The taste now is something that is a hit or miss for the members of this house. My husband did not have issues with it but me I can barely stomach the taste. So I guess it is nice to have and maybe I will learn to tolerate it better the next time.

Contains Aspartame Instead of Sugar
With blood sugar issues, your medicine choices can be limited. Sometimes, you want or need (depending on how well you take pills) a liquid medicine but most contain lots of sugar. This contains aspartame so while it is sugar free, some people still might not be able to take it if they are sensitive. I have no trouble with aspartame but it would be nice to see a more natural sweetener such as Stevia used. This formula is also decongestant free so it works well for those with high blood pressure. The formula provides a pain reliever, antihistamine, and cough suppressant. It tastes like medicine but I really like the orange flavor over the traditional cherry of most medicines.

Great for people with high blood pressure, too
This Nighttime Liquid Cold and Flu medication from Type You is designed for folks with diabetes as it does not contain sugar but it's great for people with high blood pressure, too, because it doesn't have a decongestant. This is an orange flavored syrup that is sweetened with aspartame rather than sugar. It tastes fairly good for a product like this. It's also alcohol-free.The active ingredients are acetaminophen for pain relief, diphenhydramine (an antihistamine) and dextromethorphan for cough suppression. My husband has high blood pressure so the fact that there is no decongestant included makes this suitable for him. I'm pleased because cold and flu season is coming up and now we are ready should he get sick.

Great solution
This Cold and Flu formula contains Acetaminophen for pain, Dextromethorphan for a cough suppressant, and Diphenhydramine for an antihistamine. Like a regular cough medicine, take a standard 10 mL dose every four to six hours. Overall, this is a great product for individuals who need to carefully watch their sugar as with diabetes or on a low sugar diet. This does contain aspartame though so while it is sugar free, some people still might not be able to take it if the have another condition that makes them sensitive or if they are trying to detoxify their gut from bad microbes. I would prefer if it had Stevia or another natural sweetener, but it is a great solution if you are avoiding sugar overall.

just as effective as popular cold medicines without the sugar, but this does contain aspartame
Glad to find a cold medicine that does not contain alcohol or sugar. Be warned, however, that this does contain aspartame, which many people have medical problems with. There are also many more "inactive ingredients" that appear to be printed only on the box, not on the bottle itself. If you have medical issues with medicines, read the box carefully before you discard it. The active ingredients in this medicine are similar to over-the-counter medicines and as far as I can tell it works just as well.
