Builder Merchant Hanson Sand & Cement Mortar Plasic Bag 20kg

I like this ready mix, the colour is spot on. I had a garden wall that needed pointing and was worried about the colour match, this is more of a cream/ beige colour which was perfect, I didn’t want grey.

Happy with the delivery. The bag contained sharp sand and a separate smaller plastic bag of cement. I didn’t notice that it was sharp sand and I wanted this for brick wall pointing. The sand was maybe a bit too course for that but this was a fairly hidden garden brick wall so didn’t matter too much. I would suggest a finer sand for pointing if appearance is important.

I used this mortar mix yesterday for repointing slabs on a large patio and path. The instructions were accurate although I added a very small amount of water. This morning the mixture has hardened although it will probably need a few more days. Very pleased wth the results.As with all bags of mortar it is essential that the bag is emptied and all the contents are thoroughly mixed, as the cement and sand can separate to some extent.

This has to be the best £20 I have spent. Just as lockdown started, I found my garage door frame was rotten, and I really needed to prepare the walls for a new roller door. The brick layer must have been drunk when our garage was built as the bricks were all over the place. With too much time on my hands, I have used this mortar to smooth the walls, repointing, window sill repair and then after lockdown lifted there was enough left to fit a new concrete lintel. Like all mortar it takes quite a few days to set, but once it does it has stayed attached and become nice and hard. I would be happy to buy again.

Bit too much sand, not enough cement. The colour is match with my brick colour. I’m using this mortar as repointing my garage walls. Also I’ve added bit of cement for strengthening my walls.. I’m making my dream garden looking nice 👍🏻. I’ve used this mortar in my old butter tub, for I’m trying not to waste mortar.
