Very good stock which has a better flavour than any supermarket/branded vegetable stock
I held back on writing a review for this for a good three months because my very initial impressions weren't great. I expected to be blown away by this stock, and initially I wasn't.It's only been since I started to incorporate it into more and more of my cooking that I've been able to appreciate the flavour when compared to the bog standard vegetable stock cubes I usually use.It really does produce a better flavour. Most vegetable stock cubes seem to be overwhelming in either their herbiness or their celery flavours. This stock is just so well balanced and it adds a great depth to dishes.I really can't tell you whether it really does taste beefy because I haven't eaten beef for nearly thirty years - and I don't think I'd be too keen on this stock if it had some kind of (to me) alien meaty flavour. But I can tell you that it does take my cooking to a higher level. Seitan tastes amazing with a spoon of this added into the recipe. It 'tasties up' stir fry amazingly well. And adds a lovely dimension to chilli and other dishes.A small tub does go a long way, so even though it seems expensive, I've used it an awful lot and I yet still have a little bit left. It's probably time to reorder now though, which means I really do like it!I'm contemplating trying the 'chicken' flavour now.

Okay,
This was easy to use, gluten free and vegan. The taste reminds me of T bone steak crisps that I used to love many years ago. I got this product after a stomach bug, not the flavour I was expecting but okay anyway. I'd probably buy again, but I did need heaps more than the measure suggested. But then I do have altered taste. And altered sense of smell.

Great flavour
Love using this product to give an authentic flavour to vegan 'chicken' dishes. Expensive, but the tub lasts a long time if used occasionally. Trying the beef flavour next

taste like chicken but very salty
I purchased this as I wanted some vegan chicken season. I found the salt content to be too much. I did not consider this to be worth the price because the amount of seasoning was small. I have given this three stars because it has a good chicken flavour but I would not purchase this again because of the high salt content.

Intolerance to onion and garlic?
If you're following a FODMAP restricted diet due to onion and garlic intolerance - then this is the stock for you! We've been using this for years now and it has a great taste and makes a good substitute. Also handy that you can buy it in bulk like this.

Good product
I saw Massel stock mentioned in a recipe I was making for German style roast pork so had a google as I’d never heard of it. Obviously I’m not a vegan but despite the cost I bought it after reading one of the reviews on here saying it tasted more of chicken than stock cubes containing actual chicken. Anyway, I really like it. I find other stock cubes like kalllo or knorr are ok but they add other spices/garlic which doesn’t always go well with the dish I’m cooking. However the Massel stock gives that chicken-y oomph without all those extra flavourings. It went very well in my Chinese chicken & sweetcorn soup. Word of caution, it’s fairly salty so only add it gradually. I only wish I’d discovered it earlier when I was regularly cooking for a vegetarian!
