This is a great little bookcase for a child. It's super easy and quick to assemble, and is pretty solid with real wood construction. You can see the wood grain on the sides of the painted panels unlike composite pieces. There is a slight smell, but I assume it's from the paint, not formaldehyde or other horrible chemicals. It's not strong, and I believe it will disspate in a few days. I wiped the unit with a damp cloth before assembling and have it sitting in the livingroom before placing in my child's room in a few days. It really is adorable and sturdy. I had no damaged pieces, except for a tiny nick on the back edge, which I can repair with a smear of acrylic paint. Assembly was really a breeze. I was overwhlemed at the sight of the bag of screws ar first, but it took 20 minutes tops with a child's help of handing them to me.

Perfect size for my 2.5 year olds room. Just what I was looking for. Easy to put together, good quality. Sturdy.

Have several items from this brand and it never disappoints. Fairly easy to put together. I did realize I missed two screws after final completion and had already threw the screws away. Not sure if I missed a step or what, but it doesn’t affect the integrity of the sturdiness.

The shelf fit perfectly in my child’s room. Plenty of space for books and some stuffies too. As many other reviews will say, the smell was pretty offensive- like chemical. I wiped it down with some sanitary wipes and that seemed to help but it really needed to air out before I put it in my kids room- I had a headache just setting it up. Went away after 3-5 days. I still like it regardless and was very easy to put together.

I love this! I was very please with the quality of this shelf. The size is bigger than expected. Very wide fitting all our books. Perfect for a kids room. Buy it you won’t be disappointed. 10/10

I bought one of these for my daughter because I had previously bought one for my son and loved it...but for some reason the varnish/paint/glue (I'm not really sure what the smell is) is so strong I assembled the book case 4 or 5 days ago and am still airing it out. When I put it in my daughter's room the smell is so overwhelming it is unbearable. I'm hoping it doesn't take much longer for the smell to leave or at least die down some, but if it doesn't I'm going to have to toss it because I can't have her breathing in such a potent smell of glue/varnish/paint.

A breeze fixing this but some imperfections exist which is why it's not a 5 star product. Otherwise, the material is excellent and very sturdy.

Very nice for this money. Easy to assemble and sturdy. Won’t fix it to the wall. There are some imperfections and they’re visible but it’s fine. It’s in a kid’s room, it would happen at some point anyway. The chemical smell us definitely there. We kept it on a deck for 2 days and it’s fine now.

The product was easy to put together, is sturdy, and looks exactly as it does in the picture. I took 1 star off because it was missing a screw.
