Firstly understand. Gig bags will never protect a trumpet like an actual hard sided case. Do not presume it will, or you will have a ton of repairs in your future.If your child is struggling to lug his or her trumpet to school, they are only marginally better off with a gig bag than just carrying the thing by hand without a case. They will carelessly bump it into a door frame or something and later say "this has a big dent in it and I don't know why" or "one of my valves isn't moving."As such, I would only recommend these for adults who are exceedingly careful about their instruments, or for in my situation, to fit a non-standard instrument into a case of some sort when none was previously present.I got a valveless G bugle off Marketplace without a case for less than the price of this bag. Bugle specific cases are rare, so a gig bag it got. If it gets mangled in the bag, I won't cry about it. But, I feel it's better off with some padding around it than with none at all... because I'm a careful adult.I also ordered the slightly cheaper version for a different bugle, curious to see how they compare. I wanted to be able to tell instantly which is which at a glance.I may construct a wooden box to put the bag with the bugle inside it if I intend to do any serious travel with it. I think it would be decent for that, especially with some extra packing material in the box.

Fairly sturdy for a soft case.

I bought one for myself and one for my Grandson after watching him struggle with a bigger heavier case, this is nicely padded, well made and practical.

Lightweight case for carrying around all day. The strap could be bigger. Not much padding for protection, but if you want a lightweight case, this does the job. I would buy again.

Looks nice and appears well made but quite flimsy with minimal padding/reinforcement. Sent it back as anticipated a dented or mangled horn.

This was purchased for a vintage French trumpet that did not come with a case. Carries the trumpet well. Light weight and easy to carry. Has a side pocket for small items. Does the job!

This is a GREAT bag. Okay, so maybe GREAT is a bit strong, but it really is great.My Yamaha fits perfectly, with room on the sides and front and back, but it is still snug enough to prevent movement.Unlike other bags I have purchased, this bag actually has useful padding. Though I'm not suggesting you can be careless with your horn, the bag will protect your horn in most cases.The only issue I have is the strap is a little on the light side and the clips that hold the strap to the bag could be a bit more heavy duty.But it is a virtually perfect bag. I am especially happy with the bag because of all the JUNK I have purchased on Amazon in the last year or two. I am SOOO tired of the Chinese cheap crap - this bag is a great buy, well made and functional.
