Works great for trapping rabbits
These rabbits kept eating multiple holes in my deer fence. I decided to try this trap and relocate them into a remote grassy willowed area where they couldn't do so much damage to planted flower beds and trees. Yes, they were even eating the bark of my small pine trees! It was a harsh winter and they were eating everything in their sight. This trap worked amazing and was easy to use. Would recommend.

Humane and effective
I’m an animal lover, but I needed to relocate some invasive critters. Once I figured out how to hook it up, it worked great. Then I folded it back up for storage, and Reassembled it for use the next time. And it seems to hold up even when outside for a long time.

Racoon cage
I bought this cage to remove a couple of raccoons that were killing chickens. It worked well, had a few sprung traps and caught the cat once. lol. They wire rods that spring the trap were easily bent by the raccoons. But we bent them back and used the trap again just fine.

The varmints are now gone.
I have had this trap for less than one week and have already cleared my backyard of 5 squirrels, one very large rabbit and one very young possum. Before you report me to PETA, let me tell you that I transported each captured animal to a wooded area just outside a Del Webb community about five miles from my home because I felt that it was time for them all to enjoy retirement. The trap was very easy to assemble and set-up. I don't know which bait was more effective - a quarter of a ripe kiwi or a single Ritz cracker with peanut butter - because they both worked. In one case my wife and I watched from our sun room as a squirrel approached the trap and we each urged it to take one more step, one more step, one more step and then BANG - we got it.I purchased the larger unit at the recommendation of an earlier review to avoid catching the animals tail in the spring-loaded gate. No animals were hurt in the clearing of my backyard. No pain - pure gain.

Groundhog Found Security Defect
The trap worked but I noticed the groundhog was tearing at the wire release for the quick release end of the cage which is a much softer metal than the cage or linkages. I went back up to the shed to get some heavier wire to tie it shut before I tried to move him but he was gone when I returned. He learned a lesson and would not go in the cage for the watermelon/cantaloupe rines as before. Tying the cage open over the last week to get him comfortable going in and out again and will set the trap once he is feeding inside the cage again. Used a wire coat hanger that is much stronger and harder to bend to replace the soft metal wire (that he chewed open last time) to provide quick release at the other end of the cage. Hoping for a better result this time as he continues to do damage

Showed up rusted and bent
This is a VERY CHEAP trap, with not enough hinge connectors to withstand a larger animal like a racoon. The trigger is also very hard to set, and wedges against the trap sides, often failing to trigger. I've had to wax the door mechanism to help it close because the machining is so rough it doesn't close smoothly and the trigger needs to be adjusted and bent before it works. Still, it's a delicate balance between being set and going off just from a small vibration. Spend the money, get a better trap, not this one.

Good trap for the money
Easy to assemble and use, relatively easy to bait, but of course this will be easier if you can put your bait through the grille or toss it in the back like I did. Another reviewer gave a good tip of putting a piece of cardboard on the bottom so that the trip plate doesn’t stand out, and it all worked great. Build quality seems pretty reasonable and average at this price point, and the tension on the door spring is plenty enough to keep whatever you trap inside...unless you’re trapping wolverines.
