We used these for a plate/cutting board rack project and it turned out great. The are durable, and do not bend to easy which is what we needed however if you did need to bend them with the proper tool you could do so.

I rounded the ends of a rod, so it won't scratch the inside of my motorcycle's gas tank, then added heat-shrink tubing for further protection. Very suitable.

I don't know if these are brass or not, I don't know a lot about metallurgy. I needed pins for the handle of a knife, wanted brass colored, and these were roughly the right size for the hole in the knife tang. I say roughly because the hole in the tang was a little undersized so I had to sand them down a bit to fit. Good quality product without any brittleness. Very pleased.

There are a lot of different suppliers offering 12" long, 3/16" diameter brass rod in sets of six. This buying option was a good value. I have no idea which brass alloy this is, and don't really care. It will do the job! The brass rods came packaged in a convenient drill bit sleeve, a two part plastic container that is infinitely reusable.

It's fine to use no problems.
