This is as smooth as silk
My brother in law told me about this drill, after chugging away with my combi drilling joists i had to try something new. I ordered this due to having 4 apartments to 1st fix. On first use i wasnt sure as it is not as fast as the combi, but after we used a new auger bit the game changed. It eats away at timber smoothly, it has tons of torque and is an absolute please to use. We managed 4 apartments with the same auger too and still have the bit which is fine, with the combi it was a bit a day due to having angle issues when drilling or lads using combi on top speed.I jump at the chance to use this drill, i read another review from another buyer who it was their best tool. Well i can say it is mine too. They have recently released a battery version, but for me i wont change, i have moved over to 110v because of this drill and have no issues running a lead. with tool like this that will most likely eat batteries.5/5, a quality tool from Makita

makes cutting through joists a doddle especially when used with a beaver bit.the head can be changed arround for high or low speed,

Powerful, quiet and flexible
I've drilled hundreds of 133mm holes through though Kerto-S beams with ease, even in tight spaces. The drill runs remarkably quiet and cool. Case is roomy, but seems to be quite flimsy.Highly recommended

Keep it corded.
Loads of torque, with the correct sized auger you will fly through joists etc. no problem. Let the snail of the auger poke through and then swap sides, drill from the opposite face for perfect zero tearout bores through your timber. I recommend Wood Owl augers, best you can get.Very easy to get plumb and level holes because you have vertical alignment of the motor housing and horizontal alignment of the chuck and drill to reference simultaneously.Don't waste time on cordless this just keeps going. Good as new after 15 years.
