What can you say about placemats!? These are evenly coloured, the blue is around the edges as well as top, they feel robust enough.I have used them once and they took a wee bit of cleaning after a roast dinner but come up as new.

Not UK made
The item was the exact color I wanted and the quality is good but disappointed as I thought I was buying a UK manufactured not made in China. This item is labeled Portmeiron a wall know British company 😭

Great price
I saw something like this in a catalogue but the price was really high. However, I wanted something on my holiday table, and my daughter pointed out that Pimpernel seemed to be the name she saw for this type of placemat. I went online to Amazon, saw these and noted the very reasonable price. I ordered and they came very quickly. So far very pleased.

Terrible quality
This is a review after 7 months of use.The Pimpernel placemats came with very thin packaging.. so thin that there were already scratches along the edges and corners even before using. Things only get worse once you put them into daily use. It is not the first time I use placemat so I am not dumb enough to put heavy or hot things onto it. But even with tons of care it quickly got scratches, bumps, and marks all over the place. After the first month I would say they are still “usable” as placemats but I would be ashamed to use them when there are guests in the house. In fact I bought another set of cheaper placemats just a month later after seeing how terrible this set has became. Half a year later the cheaper ones still look as good as new while the Pimpernal placemats are approaching the end of their time. By the way did I mention that I also bought a matching set of coasters? They are even worse with lots of circular water marks!If you are looking for placemats that are usable, presentable, and in reasonable price this would be the last brand I would recommend.
