Excellent selection of coffees for a great price. Definitely recommend these.

I decided to start each day with an expresso. But at the time, I had only my early Advent calendar from Caffe Nero. So I had to borrow coffee from the Advent calendar, as we were still in November. My grandchildren were appalled at my recklessness. So I needed coffee pods to replace my barefaced larceny. I checked on Amazon and felt that the Real Coffee variety Pack offered good value for money as well as great coffee. The variety pack arrived, I replaced the missing pods in the Advent Calendar. Now I am enjoying an excellent expresso every morning, with a selection from the nine different variety packs. I highly recomment this product.

I am writing this review in respect of Sumatra and Bologna capsules from this range, although I have sampled most of the range in recent months (and enjoyed them all).The coffee is enjoyable and certainly represents excellent value for money, particularly factoring in that it is organic and fairtrade. Like Nespresso's own range, there are coffees of various strengths and flavours, though it may take some experimentation to find your favourite. The flavours are readily discernible and distinctive, from fruity, nutty, all the way to liquoricey... I am no coffee expert but I am happy with these pods.One of the issues that seems to plague 3rd party capsules in general is the fit with the machine. In some cases I have even had the machine stop working due to pressure problems. Thankfully no such problems with realcoffee capsules, which fit tightly and afford the same flow as the original range.however, I am knocking a star off, because they are not *perfect* in this regard - there is still a small amount of water seepage. In fact, I did my best to scientifically measure this, and discovered that there is about 1ml (or just over) produced when using a Sumatra capsule.Now, I have learned from another manufacturer in the past that supposedly "I am part of the problem" because I tend to use the espresso capsules to make a lungo size drink. Well, so be it: but I bought this machine for convenience, not to become a barista ;-) So, I may not be alone in making longer drinks from espresso capsules.So, I measured leakage after one espresso shot, then again after making a lungo size drink (another shot from the same capsule). In fact, most leakage occurred in the first phase of the cycle. See pics.I just keep a small piece of kitchen roll in the base of my capsule tray.

So just got the pods on subscription for every 6 months and got a further discount on these bad boys.The packaging is pretty impressive was expecting less of a presentation.Tried the Columbia pod and I was so impressed was a smooth medium flavour - 7 in strength which I prefer.I tried MANY pods from LOR which was decent to alternatives from Waitrose which were much more expensive and an utter a waste of money (tried 4 different brands).So far after 4 years of Nespresso coffee drinking this the best alternative to any other I have tried so far.Also the pods cost was only 0.21 per pod and many different flavours to choose from.Thankfully not ultra strong which i absolutely hate.Worth a first try on this alternative coffee pod experience to nespresso originals.I would put it in the similar category to Nespresso in coffee quality taste and packaging presentation.

I chose a variety pack and most of them are good, some better than others . There are a couple i will buy again but the one called Roma in red capsule is vile and makes me sick, unfortunately 2 of the sleeves were Roma and had to be binned.
