Service: Platon Hardcover – April 15, 2016

You might not recognise his name but Platon has made some of our times - current powerful images - do a little research and you will see his work has been featured in many mainstream media outlets. This is a photographer who has something to say and expresses it as a finely polished craft. He has a unique style / look that is unmistakable - you know when you are looking at a Platon image. I think he will easily be remembered among many of photography's greats. I was introduced to his work by a fellow photographer and when I made the reference/connection with many of his images I had seen ie Time Magazine Putin, Bill Clinton, etc many celebs - I just had to see if he had published any books. This book is affordable and a good example of his photography and the effort he exerts to research the subjects and visually communicate to the viewer. Its too bad really that many of his other book publications are out of the financial reach of the common man.

I love Platon’s work. He is definitely what I aspire to be as a photographer.

Poignant and powerful, if you are a fan of war journalism this book is a must-have.

Great pictures

This is an excellent pictorial view from boot camp to postwar civilian life for our Desert troops.

perfect condition as described

As a former service member, I was disappointed to see the we were not represented fairly. Women also have been mutilated by war, lost their lives, leave their children behind and in general are much more than wives, actors or chaplain.

Overall just an ok photography book.

Incredible work!! Sensibility pervades the whole work. It shows us in a simple and profound way the image of the military and its veterans.

Great body of work and printed well. Pity it is a small format. Bigger size would have been incredible. Still great purchase!
