Works great
The cable is fine and the software works. Most of the negative reviews are based on the software install because the instructions are not clear and the need to turn off AV. If you don't understand the "why" then you need to go and get the official Toyota version. If you don't like this use a VM or have a separate laptop for your OBD stuff.

This portion of the software has no utility availability.
Spend half a day uploading driver's in a VM and there is 0 utility functions to get into. Very poor set up.

Works with my Solterra
I have a 2024 Subaru Solterra (manufactured by Toyota, it's basically the same as the bZ4X), and confirmed it works for that car. I ran it in a Windows XP VirtualBox instance on a cheap laptop (Chuwi MiniBook X) running Fedora 40 Linux, and connected it to the USB-C port on the laptop with the Apple USB-C to USB-A adapter (what I had handy). Worked perfectly. Was able to shut up the stupid dinging that played non-stop whenever the car was in reverse, and tweak a few other settings. Can't speak to whether or not the software is trustworthy, as I set up a virtual environment just to run it, and in that environment it worked just fine. No issues.

Cable good, software is sketch
The cable was of good quality as a generic cable. I was able to connect to my 2022 4Runner with this. You do need TIS for key programming for the newer model Toyotas and Lexus. There’s a lot of these available by different sellers, I would just go with the cheapest one.

2008 Prius perfect
You can do everything that the dealer can do for thousands of dollars less on a 2008 Toyota Prius. Most importantly you can bleed those finicky brakes. Change the interior light delay and turn on the alarm that doesn't come from the factory turned on.

Worked great!
The cable worked great. I was able to use it to make connection from my lap top to car and program a new smart key on my wife’s Lexus.
