These have arrived sooner than expected and I have to say they have exceeded my expectations. They are great quality and our dog likes me using them. Our dog was ok at the groomer until the last appointment we had before lockdown when he suddenly didn’t like the noise of the dryers etc. I was planning to start taking him again soon but I was worrying about it (and dealing with him hating the groomer on top of everything else in this pandemic just felt like too much) so thought I’d order this for now to trim his beard etc. He wasn’t having it when I tried human electric clippers we already have (maybe he’s associating that with whatever sounds he didn’t like at groomers) and I frankly don’t have the energy right now for long drawn out training. I had tried with regular hair scissors but worried about him moving suddenly and poking him. These are a wonderful alternative! He loved getting brushed and combed so this is very easy to incorporate into that. I just brush him them comb him with the attachment on the scissors then after a minute cut the hair. He doesn’t care at all and sits still. When I stop he asks for more combing ha ha. The little set of scissors included is very useful too for around his eyes and toes etc. Our dog is 3/4 lab and 1/4 poodle and weirdly his hair only grows long on his face, bottom and paws so it feels like this set is going to take the place of the groomer for me - even if things go back to normal. If our dog needed his whole body cut all the time it would maybe be different. Although if I had a dog that needed that and other ways weren’t working I’d definitely give it a go with these, it would just take a while. Just don’t expect it to be as easy as with electric clippers! These are just well made scissors with safety ends and attachable guides. I watched some of the Scaredy cut videos online before the set came and I did feel it gave me simple pointers on what to do. Again, very glad I ordered these. Easy to use, dog likes it, and it will likely save me money. Win-win-win! Update June 2021: This set has been one of my best ever buys. My dog loves it, gets excited when I get it out now, and really seems to ENJOY me giving him a trim with it! I’ve given him a summer cut and he was delighted getting it done and is enjoying being cooler now. I have got better using it over time too. Really pleased.

Received my Scaredy Cut Scissors quickly (and with free trimming scissors! 😃) Quality of scissors apparent in weight and design. My Patterdale/Lakeland Terrier has always been a 'challenge' to trim 😕 Not keen on electric trimmers and using standard trimming scissors was difficult to get an even cut. The variety of comb guides supplied were easy to change and give a range of length of cut. Having made initial first cuts, final smoothing trim was extremely easy to achieve, and the results were wonderful! Towsers coat is now shorter and smoother than it has been for a long time, and he's much more comfortable in the Summer heat 😃 The cost of the scissors has easily been out-weighed against what it would have cost at a professional groomers (IF he would of co-operated!) There is little noise as the scissors cut, and I feel more confident that I am able to use scissors near him safely. For a first attempt at trimming Towser I am very impressed with the ease of use and professional finish I can achieve. I would highly recommend this product for anyone who is worried about trying to trim their dogs coat, and although he is not a large dog (and with a little more practice) I'm sure I will get quicker 😉 After many months of searching to find a solution to how to trim Towser, I now have an easy, safe way to achieve tidy results! I got this product about 2 weeks ago and the scardey cut scissors have been perfect for my anxious dog. It has finally solved the problem of my dog not allowing us to cut his hair with electric clippers. However I also paid extra for the Tiny Trim scissors but on the first use the screw fell out and doesn't stay in, you make 2 cuts and the screw loosens and doesn't work. I have been promised a replacement for the seller but haven't received anything and have not received any answer to my messages. If I were to have a working Tiny Trim scissors for the small areas then this would be a 5 star product

I’ve been buying these for years and they have been amazing for a dog scared of clippers. However I have had to return the last two pairs I’ve ordered- they literally don’t cut the hair and would never get the job done. Have you changed the design or something?

My son is autistic and adhd. The sound of clippers really scares him. Traumatises him even so these are an absolutely great alternative . Absolutely worth trying.

Great idea if they were better made. They cut very well and surprisingly even. I was really happy until the screw came out and the fell apart after about 10 minutes of using them. I reattached everything and kept using the and tightened screw as I went. The finger holes are small, I have small hands so didn't put me off. When I finished the cut they had took the skin off my fingers. Looks like I'm sticking to the groomers!

All right, so it is a great idea. However, I am trying to cut dog fur. My dog has softish fur behind her ears, and it gets very tatty very quickly. Her tum is always coated in manure, as she is a cattle dog. So, there I was, sawing away on the tats, the dog thought I must be trying to amputate something. I would imagine that hair would be easier to work with. I will have to try it on the kids. I found the holes for the fingers woefully too small. Yes, I have larger hands than most men, but my lady fingers kept getting stuck. I then took the rubber guards out. Then my fingers slipped, hurt, and got stuck behind the second knuckle. Panic moment there! The butter saved the day. The dog took off. To be fair, I did get the ear tats without the dog noticing. She was certain they were part of her ear. Only the promise of a pig ear kept her on the porch. I think the product could be improved with a more ergonomic grip and wider holes. The blades were great.

J'ai eu du mal à l'utiliser sur mes chiens car ils avaient des sous-poils très épais. Si vous tenez les cheveux dans la main et que cela aide mais il faut faire attention de ne pas se couper les doigts. Je pense que ce serait beaucoup plus facile pour les chiens qui ne sont pas doublement traités. C'est quand même un outil utile une fois maîtrisé.

All pet owners with more than 1 pet like cats or dogs should own 1 set cuz its very handy, easy to use for even beginners and minimal harm n stress on pets.

Because I am right handed I have to constantly turn my dog around or upside down to get his fur in the right direction to cut. Luckily he's okay with me (man)handling him! I put a towel down on my kitchen bench for the correct height and went to work. I love how easy peasy this is. My groomers would never quite get his length quite right.
