NEVADA WH3080 A GREAT BUY.
NICE EQUIPMENT,SIMPLE TO SET UP AND WORK WELL, SOLAR POWER ON THE TRANSMITTER ALLOWS YOU TO SET THE UNIT HIGH UP, AS YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CHANGE THE BATTERIES.THE UNIT WAS WELL PACKED WITH ALL THE PARTS YOU REQUIRE.ONLY PROBLEM WAS ,THAT I COULD NOT CONNECT TO OUTSIDE UNIT, WHICH WAS ABOUT 50 FEET AWAY, SO I HAD TO MOVE CLOSER FOR IT TO WORK, IT COULD BE THAT IT WOULD NOT TRANSMIT THROUGH 3 WALL THICKNESSES, WHEN IT WAS IN THE INITIAL POSITION.

Good in principle, marred by defective implementation.
Having used a relatively basic weather station for a number of years I wished to upgrade to a unit that could also measure light intensity and U.V. index. The low price indicated that this was firmly a budget unit and completely incomparable to the likes of a professional Davis weather instrument for example. However, whilst I was not expecting a high degree of accuracy or precision from the unit I did expect that it would function as described. Unfortunately the connections to the external sensors failed within minutes of pairing even when placed side-by-side with the base unit for testing. Particularly troublesome was the solar and U.V. array which by day two refused resolutely to re-link to the station. Following the instructions in the user guide did not help. The station is designed to expect an R.F. data transmission of wind speed, wind direction, temperature and humidity every 48s and solar/U.V. data every 60s and an initial pairing is required to establish the window of transmission. Since range was not the issue I can only conclude that the transmissions "drift" excessively from synchronicity for whatever reason or else the data packets are corrupt.Having looked into the problem online I uncovered a whole host of issues with this model of weather station (which is actually manufactured by Fine Offset) encountered by others. These are too numerous to detail here but worth checking out if you are considering purchase. A simple search for "WH3080 faults" will get you started.I'm sure good units exist to which lucky owners will attest, but the odds seem to be against finding one hence I have requested a refund. On face value a sub one-hundred pound weather station with these specifications seems good but not if it fails to be fit for purpose. I would suggest from my experience to either invest more money in a higher quality unit or save your cash for something else. The one star review is representative of the model that I received which did not function.

The system looks good but is a little flimsy and I'm not sure how well it will cope with high winds. Also the set up is little clumsy to operate also not all the sensors work first time needing a lot of fiddling with electrical connections to get the external temperature to work correctly.I would not recommend it to a friend. The company however are helpful and quick to deal with issues.

Does what it says on the box
Goods arrived next day! Instructions for set-up were clear. It would have saved me a bit if time if it was made clearer that the system settings are more easily set from the computer rather than delving into the depths of the base station menus. Otherwise very pleased.

Not the best experience with this model or it’s successors
Not the best experience with this model or it’s successors. My first unit was purchased sometime in the early 2000s and served well until 2012 when it died completely. It was replaced by an updated version purchased in May 2012.This unit failed and was replaced by the supplier in November 2012 when the wind speed sensor locked up.This updated unit lasted till Jan 2013 when the Lux/UV sensor failed and the supplier stated that they were contacting the manufacturer. This month July 2014, the rain sensor and wind speed sensor failed and the unit is deemed useless.Needless to say I will not be replacing it with another model from the same manufacturer.

Nice tidy model
Many thanks for quick delivery, very happy with product. This was a replacement for our old one which we have had for 10 years, much neater and no wires to worry about.
