I have been reading Erin's poems for years on Pinterest and decided to buy all 3 of her books just to have my own copies as I adore her way of writing from the heart.Her poems are inspirational and really touch on a lot of difficult heart felt topics but it a sensitive way. She has a lot of insight into mental health issues and it makes you wonder how she is so knowledgeable about the various topics. She may be young but she has a maturity beyond her years.These poems are for anyone who is a deep thinker. For teens who are struggling with who they are and how they fit in in society and for anyone who has lived through angst and wishes they had had her insight when they were younger.Buy them, you won't regret it and will want to buy multiple copies for others as gifts.

After I saw this young lady's work on her blog I was very keen to own a copy of her book for myself. I've since purchased several copies to give as gifts. Erin writes in free-form couplets which are easy to access even for those who normally don't "like" or "understand" poetry, and every poem conveys a message in a way that seems to touch something deep down inside. They all have a kind of punch and energy to them which many older and more experienced poets struggle to capture. Bear in mind that she was only 19 when this was published - the technical aspects are not always brilliant and the scansion is frequently off - but in my opinion this is not a detriment to the work, and she has also grown tremendously as a writer since this early work. This work is a raw, beautiful glimpse into the soul of the writer, with a universal quality that should hook everyone. Open a page at random; once you have read and related to one poem, you will keep coming back for more.

I love poetry and this collection of poems was exceptional.

I discovered Erin Hanson many years ago through Pinterest and have loved her writing ever since. She is one of the authors who inspired me to take my poetry seriously and pursue my dreams.This, being her first published collection, is a wonderful culmination of her work. I did spot a few typos and some might call it 'expensive' for a book of its size (it's a rather 'thin' text), but please remember that you're not just buying pages with some ink on them, you're buying hours, days, years, of hard work and brain power. You're buying passion, emotion, an insight into someone's personal experiences.I would recommend her poetry to anyone. It's most commonly 'traditionally' structured with its rigid rhyme scheme but it's fresh and powerful and there are so many pieces which give me goose bumps and will stay with me forever.A wonderful addition to my bookshelf.

Bought the book as a gift for my sister who loved the poetry.

The work of this author is really quite astonishing. There is a real depth to this young lady's writing which is quite incredible considering she is only (I understand) nineteen. I really feel Erin Hanson is someone to look out for in future and I'm so glad I purchased this book. Her work is sublime. I would frame almost every poem in this book. Highly recommended.

There are some really lovely poems in here, and there were actually a lot more in the book than I expected when I placed the order. Would highly recommend, you won't be disappointed!

I am pretty sure e.h. is this generation’s most gifted poet. The imagery is elegant, the observations are insightful, and the messages are profound. Truly lovely work.

I love this collection of poems and found them a joy to read, although some of them can be on the pessimistic side. I am a non-native speaker of English and have studied English Lit at university however lately I had become increasingly unhappy with my ability to read and understand English contemporary poetry. I blamed myself for that - maybe I was lacking practice? When I found thepoeticunderground on Insta I was so excited - finally some poems in English that I could understand and relate to! Faith in poetry restored - thank you!

This poetry is written by a 19-year old girl, but you wouldn’t say it, since she writes with such amazing insight and depth, really amazing. Some of her poems are funny, others are witty, and others are just heartbreaking. They make you think and reflect. I love it. The only downside is that Erin Hanson didn’t write more, but since I keep re-reading her poems over and over, I decided to buy her entire collection of poems in the three volumes that are published. If you aren’t familiair with her work, I’d suggest to look up for example the poem that starts with ‘What is the grass is always greener’ or the one starting with ‘Welcome to society’. I can highly recommend these and I’m happy Amazon sells these.

I just received the book and OH MY GOD it’s so beautiful!!!!! If you’ve already not read atleast one poem by e.h. then I think you really should do some research and you’ll find yourself compelled to buy this book.
