Clean bowl!
This is the third variety of dog food that we have tried from Essential Foods. We have also tried the "Estate Living" and "Superior Living" varieties which are very similar but with different balances of ingredients.Just as when we got the previous varieties, as soon as it was delivered the dog was sniffing the cardboard box it was packaged in and was very excited as I opened up the bag. Our dog can be a very fussy eater indeed, but she absolutely loves Essential Foods which is really unusual for her. Before we discovered this brand, she would graze on her food throughout the day and often had to be tempted into eating her food with adding things in like tuna. No extra goodies are needed with this food.The composition of the food is excellent and it's much better quality than the standard with a very long list of ingredients: Akai (whatever that is!), apples, blueberries, carrots, cauliflower, chicken, cranberries, eggs, ginger, ginseng, green tea, linseed, marigold, mulberries, oranges, pears, peas, potatoes, probiotics, rosemary, salmon, seaweed, spinach, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, trout and vitamins/minerals. The protein content is high at 35% (compared to our previous cheaper food which was about 18%).The "Older" variety is for dogs who are at 2/3rds of their expected lifespan. Our dog is currently 9 years old so fits within that period of life.She absolutely loves all the Essential Foods and we have now permanently switched from other foods. The only downside is that this food is more expensive than some foods. However, we can clearly see the difference and from the dog's point of view she thoroughly enjoys eating food from the Essential Foods range compared to what we have been giving her.

Essential good brand, but Dog Food Older was not for my dog
I bought this food recently after using Essential Superior dog food, which had been tolerated extremely well by our old dog. I can only say that it did not suit her and I would not use it again. The Essential Superior dog food was very good.

Excellent food for my older pup. She loves it and it’s such good value for money as well as being good for her.

Very good quality food
Very good quality food. My dog is a 15 year old Manchester terrier/whippet and has a very sensitive stomach but seems to have transferred to this food very easily. Well worth the money in my opinion.

It feels good to take extra care of my old friend.
We have an 8 year old German Sherperd who is of the grey type. Centor has been a competitive sportsdog within the schutzhund sports but on a very amature level.He and I have enjoyed many many hours of great fun, training and frustration….I am sure you know what I mean. ”Why is he not going right instead of left on the blind, etc”. But it has been a joy for us and our family – and very self-educational ;DCentor has always been really selective with his food and therefore we have tried many different brands. Some better than others to his palets.With Essential Foods we have found a ”keeper”. He likes the food as he finish his bowl every time, his teeth are looking great and so is his coat.Especially when it is the season for changing his fur. We increase the daily amount a bit and it seems to help him shed the old coat quicker.We still workout on the field and enjoy our training. And we will of course continiue with this as long as his body and joints can manage. So far and on the Essential Foods diet it is looking good.
