Rugby League Live 4 (PS4)

Well I am a big rugby league live fan in general I really enjoyed the last game, and I reviewed the last game on here. I haven't played this game for long as it's only just come out but I really do think it's a big improvement overall, especially the gameplay set plays, new tackles ankle taps new big hits what's a big improvement from the last one. Another solid improvement is the player faces especially for the NRL as nearly all of them have been face scanned, the downside to this game is I really do feel they haven't put as much thought into the Super League as they could of again, I know they don't have the licences for the players to be face scanned but even the set up of the players in the teams is poor I have noticed. Otherwise it's a really enjoyable and fun game to play.

Fantastic game just wish the graphics was abit better and they would make an updated version of it

They need a new game but I love rugby league games. Slightly buggy but holds a special place in my heart

I've played all the RL Live's and this is the most disappointing. RLL3 was very good but RLL4 is just a poor rehash, nothing new apart from different kicking and defense controls. With PS4's bigger engine and graphics I expected much better things but this is just a lazy copy.Most annoying for me is the lack of a Super League, Super Eights fixture list or table! I know it's Australian developed but the lack of such is inexcusable. Also when playing in career mode inexplicable forward passes and offside occur at the play the ball after a penalty? That you also have to pay for PS Plus to play online is also a nonsense.16/12/2017 - I've played this game quite a bit and I now downgrade my original two stars to a one. I've played career modes both as a player and a coach and they have both developed errors and crashed. The latest version 1.04 on the front screen says 'Select to purchase RLWC 2017 upgrade' but when I try to it says 'This content cannot be selected at this time'. This has been happening for weeks.This is the worst game I have ever purchased/played in over 30 years. Avoid like the plague.

One of the most frustrating games I have ever played. Great ideas but poorly executed. They spent so much time perfecting player models the rest of it looks like it's 10 years old. This version has sapped the fun out of playing rugby league. Going back to RLL3.

Played it for 2 days. Other than the players faces, I feel the graphics have gone backwards. Switching defenders is a nightmare and opposition players run through without being challenged by my defence. I have my own players run in front of me as I kick, getting themselves offside and collision detection is poor as I scored a try after going through the uprights.Oh, and the wind changes directions for every kick off, so it seems! Crazy! The referees frequently have the same colour kit on as one of the teams, with no way to change this, and Eddie Hemmings is so reading from a script, it's painful. Either that or he left his charisma at home.I do enjoy the game however. Perhaps it has more depth, which I will discover as I go forward, but after 2 days play, it's OK, but not as good as the last version.Players faces? Really? I'm not concerned about FIFA style graphical gimmicks, I want proper game improvements.Update: Ok, I've had this now for about a month, or however long, an update was released and it doesn't appear to have sorted the issues I mention above. I have ordered RLL3 to play that instead as this game is a step backwards.Poor show from the developer who I tweeted and emailed, no replies! Shoddy. It's a shame, as there is definitely fun in this game, but why is it not a marked improvement on the last game... Seriously, you'd think that RLL3 was the newer game if you didn't read the label!Update, since the above, bought RLL3 again. So to compare. On reflection the RLL3 graphics are a bit better in many respects, but are a smidge more grainy. On 4 they are a bit clearer, but appear to have less detail.I've been playing 4 a fair bit, and since a recent patch I would now say the gameplay on each is very similar. The patch has improved 4.Now I have 2 games and I would play either. At the moment, 3 is less glitchy, so is still the best. As patches come out maybe 4 will overtake 3. But as of October 17, 3 wins. If I was to buy one, I would get whichever is cheapest!

If like me your a huge league fan and would buy any league related game this is great. It does have many early bugs and the graphics are shall we say.. ok... but it's a league game from small time development teams. If your not a league lover.... you might not be too impressed.

Absolutely love this game had some great matches with my mates and has gotten very competitive all round great fun highly recommend also the wife even likes playing it lol.
