OXO Outdoor 5.5in/14cm Santoku Knife with Locking Sheath

This is a very versatile and well made knife and it comes with a blade cover which feel is essential. Highly recommend!

I purchased this for a college student who wanted to get off of the meal plan and cook more things for himself, rather than relying on the mass produced dormitory food. The one thing most dormant kitchens lack is a decent knife, and this one has proven itself again and again. Not only is the sheath handy for transporting it two and from his dorm room without slicing through his backpack, it is a great shape and size, extremely versatile, and has held an edge without sharpening for two semesters now. Definitely recommend for anyone on the go, or even for the home kitchen.

bought both this and OXO's slightly smasller knife, really never use my expensive chef's knife now. These are sharp, fit the hand perfectly - feel like an extension of my hand!

My oxo peeler, which I brought from bed bath and beyond more than 20 years ago, is as new as if I brought it yesterday. Having a high trust in the brand, I bought this knife and am not surprised at how good it is. Will buy oxo next time as well. This company knows how to make high quality kitchen products. A++++.

Pretty sharp small OXO Santoku knife, tall enough to ride on your knuckles while dicing. Nice that it's compact and smaller, comes with sheath for travel/camping, however it doesn't rock like my other larger OXO Santoku knife, which is my favorite knife (but for some reason OXO no longer sells the larger rubber grip version). 4 stars because I can't rock while I chop like a Santoku knife should.

They only knife you will need on a camping trip. It comes razor sharp right out of the package and ready to go. The closing mechanism on the sheath gives you peace of mind that the knife will remain safely put away when not in use. I used the knife immediately on camping trip and it sliced and diced like a champ- couldn't have asked for better!!

Knife is very sharp, no question about it! I Love the protection case provided with this purchase, which is easy to pack for travel.

I was looking for a good knife to add to my camping gear (I'm almost always the camp cook). When I saw this on Amazon, I bought it immediately for three reasons: 1. The Santoko is my absolute favorite blade to use at home 2. I'm quite familiar with OXO gear and I knew this would be a great knife for camping 3. And absolutely the home run, the substantial plastic sheath This knife is well balanced and so well thought out for its intended purpose, camping. The sheath makes it much safer to store, protects the edge while out camping and is very secure with a nice, convenient mechanism to lock it on the blade. I can take it out for a 5-6 day trip and sharpen it when I get home so it's ready for the next adventure. Very happy with this purchase.

Only day one but cuts tomatoes perfectly. Safe knife for camp with good sheath and blunt tip. If the edge is durable, then it will have been a good purchase
