Skeptical but optimistic - UPDATED x2, rating increased!
--update 2--After just over a month or service I am adding photos of the carnage inflicted on the mosquito population. A shot with lots of insects on the metal grid and what I could remove collected in a show shovel. I am glad this bug zapper came with a cleaning brush but I wish it would open so you could more easily and effectively remove the debris. Updating my rating, this is a nice device to have close to where you are recreating outside. No chemicals and nearly silent - the occasional resounding CRACK! of another insect is the only sound it makes.-- update--It is now peak mosquito season and I deployed this Imotuntun Electric Mosquito Zapper does the job. I deployed it under my deck where it is dark and mosquitos tend to congregate so I thought it would be a good place to reduce the population around where I like to relax. I added a couple of pictures to my review of obvious mosquito carnage. This zapper is doing the job. Maybe the light is bringing them in, maybe it is just the sheer density of blood-sucking vermin but notwithstanding, this machine is reducing the population. Every resounding SNAP is one less mossy to bite me!-- original review --Finding an easy and effective way of ridding your porch or campground of flying pests is a primary goal of any one who enjoys the outdoors. This Imotuntun claims to do just that with a simple USB C connection and consuming only 1 amp. I live where mosquitoes and other flying pests can be pretty outrageous in the summer so I received this Imotuntun to test its effectiveness. The description and included documentation indicate if consumes 1 amp at the USB standard 5 volts and I can confirm that. The unit lights up and the electric trap grid appears very effective when I shorted it with a metal too. It uses the power it claims and will kill insects that come within its grid.My skepticism comes from the attractant. The included user manual claims there are 12@365nm (blue) lights and 12@395nm (violet) lights. I put my spectrometer on the light and attempted to take a picture - my photo is attached. It clearly shows a single spike in the blue spectra but nothing in violet. I tried to illuminate a black light image and did not detect any ultra-violet light. The National Institute of Health has found that flying pests are attracted to light between 450nm and 495nm in the blue spectrum and 495nm and 570nm in the green spectrum. It seems this device does not emit light at the appropriate colors to attract flying pests.I will give it a fair shake though. I will install it near a different, proven effective, mosquito trap I use in my yard that uses propane and light to attract flying pests. I will update this review in the coming weeks to let you know how effective I find this trap.

It Does Not Turn On!!!
I am very disappointed because I live next to a pond with lots of bugs that get through the screens and into the house. I charged up my power charger and plugged the bug zapper into it and pushed the ON button, but nothing happened. I even tested it on a different power source. NOTHING!!!

Why would i want to kill bugs?...
....because they BUG me. =DI don't know why, but I assumed this thing would charge and work wirelessly, since it uses a USB-C charging cord. Nope...I realized pretty quick that it needs to remain plugged into a power source. So, plan on buying a charging brick that would stay connected in order to work. When it is connected to a power source, it is fairly quiet until it ZAPS them bugs.In terms of value, it is priced to sell. But if you can find one that charges and doesn't need to be constantly attached to a power sources, spend a little extra to get that.
