I love this holding gel. I do not use it for braiding. I use it to slick my hair up when wearing a high ponytail. I have thick, course hair and it slicks it down nicely.

nice product very extra hold but the white residuce left on your hair is the problem. i had to wash my hair after braiding.

It is a big jar but it leaves a white residue, it doesn't matter how much you use. I would not buy it again, it will be sitting on my shelf forever because it's some bs lbvs again it turns white and it like clumps up.

This product leaves a white residue on your hair/twist!My daughter said it holds her edges down. Would have returned but I use a bit of the jar. Also, the smell of the product smells like goof off! (Orange) YUCK :-(I will stick with my shine n jam extra hold!!!!

I used this in conjunction with the orange jar. Placed this first to clean up the part and then went over with the orange jar. Like you're supposed to.But this stuff in this pink jar, dries too quickly leaving the hair stiff and prone to white residue. Even after placing the orange jar's product on top.If you're going to use it, use it in smaller amounts than you would any other product. And work FAST otherwise, it'll just be a waste of time and effort. I had to wash this out of my son's head and start over twice. I literally gave up on this product after that. It's just not worth the hassle to me. I'll probably try using the orange jar again. But definitely not this one. My personal opinion is that it's a waste of money and time.Good news is, it's ultra strong and it washes out just fine. Technically it did what it's intended to do (strong hold and mold). Just in a terrible way (dried too fast, white/flakey residue, stiff).SN: this is definitely not for finer or softer hair textures. I used it on 3b hair. Wouldn't recommend for this texture.I guess since I bought the pink and orange jars together it won't let me write separate reviews for them. So I'll add the orange jar review down here.Orange jar product is easy to work with. Gives beautiful shine. Doesn't dry too fast. It temporarily rehydrates the pink jar's product when used together. But, it doesn't completely cover the white residue from the pink jar.I think I really like the stuff in the orange jar. But I haven't used it by itself to really know just yet.
