Mr. Beams Ultra Bright Wireless Battery Powered Motion Sensing Indoor/Outdoor LED Ceiling Light, Plastic, White, 300 lm

I bought this to replace a similar item from a different manufacturer that didn't work out of the box. Happily, this light is completely different. It's reassuringly solid, very simple to get the batteries into, and works perfectly, giving a good amount of light for the size. Fixing to the wall or ceiling is very easy, and once installed, everything feels firm and strong. It's worth noting that the 4xD-cell batteries (not included) are almost as expensive as the light itself, so overall satisfaction will depend on how long these last.However, motion detection is excellent, and the light switches off after about 20 seconds of no movement, so hopfully the batteries will last well.The light is bright enough to fully light a small shed (7' by 6') where I store a motorcycle. I think it would do a good job up to about twice that size.

I've had one of these about 5 years under the stairs and maybe changed the batteries 3 times. This new one is brighter, and I hasten to add for a different cupboard because the old one is still going strong. It looks smart and it always comes on when light levels are low as you open the cupboard door. The light easily covers the large coat cupboard from 2/3 of the way up the wall.To fit it you just screw the backplate onto the wall or ceiling with 2 screws supplied. The holes in the backplate have enough flexibility that you don't have to be 100% precise with the holes in the wall. Fit the batteries in the light and then twist it onto the backplate. I don't often do this kind of thing but it was simple.

Bought to light up the front area of the house when I come home at night. It has a great range for the sensor, comes on as soon as I get out the car (about 10-15 feet away) and is on for enough time to get my work stuff out my boot and get inside the house. Was easy to install (took less then 5 minutes). Had it up for about 2 months and never had any issues.I would recommend this product.

I bought the light to be fitted to a porch ceiling, approximately 2.1m above the ground. The porch is large and open on three sides, so I was hoping the design of the might and positioning of the motion sensor would allow the light to come on, whatever angle someone walks up to the front door.Pros:- Battery powered. No need to run cables outside of the thermal envelope of the building, risking draughts and moisture problems in the long run.- Bright. You won't be reading War and Peace by this light, but it's certainly enough to find door keys at the bottom of a bag, or clearly see the face of a visitor.- Subtle design. Some ceiling bulkheads look very industrial, whilst the curves of the Mr. Beams blend in nicely with the white porch ceiling, and don't attract the eye.Cons:- Supplied screws are made from 'Chinesium', the softest steel known to man. Do yourself a favour and chuck them straight in the bin and use from decent screws and plugs of your own.- Sensor only turns on the light once you're within 2m of the device, rather than the 5m advertised. This may be due to the height at which it is mounted (2.1m), but is disappointing none-the-less.- Batteries are not included. 4 D-cell batteries won't break the bank, but it would be nice to see some included in a £30 device.Battery life remains to be seen, but seems adequate thus far. I'm happy with the purchase, and would certainly buy again. However, I might wait for a sale, as the £30 price tag is a bit steep. £20 would represent very good value, £30 is expensive for a light that doesn't come with batteries included.

I installed this in our downstairs loo/shower room. We have an extractor fan in the room. The electrician connected it to the light switch-which is ok except when you put the light on when not using the shower, the fan was activated (when it wasn't needed).Installation of the MR Beams light means I can walk in the room and the light is instantly activated. The light is bright and illuminates the entire room, shutting off shortly after leaving the room.The light is excellent-easy to install and looks good. Worth every penny (I also have a Mr Beams security light on our shed, installed a couple of years ago which works perfectly).

I bought one of these some years ago and it's still going strong, therefore since that time I've bought two more. They are simply perfect for dark areas, and in particular in my case inside shed storage. Super bright, lights up the entire area easily. Whenever it comes to needing a wireless outside light, Mr Beams is the first thing I look up. Have a number of their lights inside and outside (networked lights are great), each one never failed for the past several years now.Definietely a brand to trust if you're not aware of Mr Beams already

I fitted this in my shed. It was easy to fit, didn't take long.And it is very effective. It comes on when I enter the shed and is enough light to find what I am looking for, when it is dark.I would definitely recommend!

I bought one of these to mount on the rafters in the loft. Mine is held on with two screws, use your own decent screws not the rubbish ones supplied. Easy to fit in the wooden rafters high up so when I open my loft hatch the light comes on and illumiates a chunk of loft space. I will consider getting another one to mount elsewhere in the loft as once you're out of the direct line of the light it will shut off after 20seconds. Does the job and looks good.
