Works Perfectly
Ordered this because I was looking for a way to connect my usb drive to my custom built pc without having to plug directly to the back of the machine. The front of my custom pc has two usb ports but for some reason it will only detect one usb drive at a time. So, instead of reaching to the back of my pc and plugging in any usb device, now with this usb hub I can extend it and place it where I can easily reach it to plug in the desire usb device. When I first bought this I didn't look at the dimension and based my impression off the provided picture so I was expecting it to be about the size of a brick. To my surprise it is much smaller than what I had expected which is perfect because I like for devices like this to be small and not a big lump or brick sized. It fits perfectly in my pocket without any bulge (not that I would carry it in my pocket but just for comparison, use your imagination to based the size). It's basically the size of the chocolate phone (for those who still remember that and doesn't bother to look at the detail dimension). Works right out of the box without any problems. The ports are spaced out perfectly so any size usb device can fit. If you're looking for a usb hub this is a good one.

Works great... lacks the 'optional power supply'
I recently bought one of these and they're great! So far, it has powered all my external drives, and everything connected to it without the need of the optional power supply. However, it would be nice if there was a way to purchase the optional '5V DC' power supply they say works with it as I recently purchased one thinking it would work and it didn't fit. The tip on the adapter I purchased was 'Universal', so I suggest doing more research as it is NOT a universal 5V DC port on the hub. I still can't seem to find a 5V DC power supply as the three I have tried so far (all with different tips) DID NOT fit into the hub. Other than that small detail, this product is amazing and does work as described with fast transfer rates without a power supply. If you want to connect more than one exernal USB hard drive, or an external USB optical drive or other high powered USB devices you may need the power supply. Highly recommend this device.

Disappointing
I have an ultrabook (1 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0) as well as a Surface Pro 3 (1 USB 3.0), so this looked like a good solution for expanding my capabilities when traveling. I tried this with a mSATA SSD and my portable USB 3.0 powered monitor and got several BSODs for the Virtual Machines I was running off of the SSD. I ditched the mSATA and just tried it with my monitor and the wireless adapter for my mouse (i.e. something that doesn't require a great deal of I/O) and the mouse was so jerky it was unusable until I moved it to my USB 2.0 slot. So effectively I had a 1:1 port expander, which isn't very useful. As a powered USB 3.0 hub doesn't do this, I'm guessing there's just not enough power off of a standard USB 3.0 port to run it and multiple devices in spite of the claims. Maybe it's okay for standard I/O on rotational drives (where you are expecting the latency) but trying to run VMs off of an external SSD and driving an external monitor and a mouse dongle, it obviously couldn't keep up.Also, the Surface Pro 3 will actually crash the USB port for insufficient voltage trying to use this when not plugged in. I'm guessing that it also drops the voltage on its outputs when not connected to power.

Stanley Global SGT303 Ultraspeed 5GBPS hub
Although I like this hub so far... I feel if Stanley Global is going to sell a product that has a receptacle for a 5 volt power supply then they should include it with the hub or at the very least offer it along with the hub for purchase on Amazon. To me it is ridiculous as they could increase their sales if they sold it as a package as Anker does with their hubs. If I buy anymore hubs I will give preference to the company that sells the complete package. Sham on you Stanley Global for short changing your customers.

Works Great
Just plug it in to a 3.0 USB port and it self configures and is ready to use within a minute. Make sure you plug it in to a 3.0 USB port or you wont get the desired speed.Item is self powered so there is no need for a power supply (NOT included) unless you are running external HD(s) or other heavy power consuming. IF in doubt, I'd suggest adding a cheap 5V power supply.Instructions are sparse and don't even state size of power supply hole which is VERY small. Another reviewer mentioned the size or just take you item with you to radio shack to get the right one.

Stanley Global SGT303 Ultraspeed 5Gbps low Powered USB 3.0 - 4 Port Data Hub
This unit does exactly what I needed it to do; runs extremely fast and provides multiple 'extra' USB 3.0 ports. (I am using it with my Surface Pro, which only has 1 USB 3.0 port) Couple of caveats, though -> you may need a 5v power supply to get the most bang for your buck, especially when powering external drives. Also, the speed is obviously dependant on the number of devices and/or read/writes at a time; limited by your usb 3.0 output of the single port. The shiney is nice, but tends to collect lots of fingerprints...

Think this drained my CMOS/ BIOS Battery
I really think this had lots to do with draining my system bios battery and causing problems on my system. I would be cautious about buying this. I used this as a powered unit, since it really needs a power source This unit should come with its own power adapter. If you are going to use this for high power applications, buy another model.

SGT303 is an USB 2 hub! ...
I bought 2 of this SGT303 and just arived today. I plan to use this hub to connect my WD My Passport 1T USB 3 external drive. But both are showing as USB 2 hub (see picture attached.). The Win 7 system is also giving me the warning as shown attached. Copy files from internal C drive to the WD My Passport 1T USB 3 external drive attached on this hub with average speed of 33 MB/second as shown attached. So, this is only a USB 2 hub NOT as it shown USB 3.
