I am new to oil painting, and I find that this is a great addition to any oil paint set. The application is very smooth and buttery, and they are so much fun to play with. You can also cut a small piece off and use a palette knife to mix with an oil medium, such as walnut oil (I use M. Graham Walnut Alkyd Medium) and it will come out just like regular oil paint! These are great to use on days when I want to do an oil painting, but am too lazy to get all my supplies out, so with these I can do a full oil painting very easily and quickly. Highly recommend!

Excellent set of oil sticks , I used them for fruit theorem on velvet board.

These sticks are shorter and narrower than the "artists" style -- so, that means for me they were great to experiment with. The color run the gamut of the crayola 8-pack of crayons, with a few others to help blend for new colors. Might be me, but the blending was not as easy as seen on YouTube tutorials. These are HARD sticks (even after peeling off their skins). So, a palette knife (or something similar that bends and holds it hard shape) is an essential -- as are muscles and patience. The colors can be blended. Don't expect it to take just a minute. Once blended though, they work beautifully and depending on what method you use to apply them, they are beautiful and don't detract from the drape of the fabric.

This was my first time using these in the ease of use is excellent. They go on smooth like a brush and they don’t dry out.

these work well but are not as convenient as I expected. They are made of oil paint so with each use the film that covers the point needs to be removed and they take longer to dry than I expected.

I researched this product from different vendors and this price was the same or less, and arrived faster through Prime (without the minimum order). I used oil sticks in the past and wanted to try them again because of their bold marks. **Remember, if you are using acrylic paints, these oil sticks can be applied on top of the acrylics, but you cannot apply acrylic paint on top of the oil sticks. A decent product at a good price, with quick delivery!

I bought these a few years ago, didn't get around to writing a review until now. These work great with oil paints, I usually use them for adding/filling color about halfway through a painting, or to help work through the early stages a bit quicker. They mix with medium really well too, I always have bad luck with pastels but I loved the idea of the workflow, so these were a nice in-between and they last so long (I got these about 5-6 years ago, haven't painted in a while but most of them are only worn down about halfway - gonna buy more soon)
