Does the job
The purpose of the tool, to me anyway,is to punch a small, neat hole in wood, which it does perfectly. I haven’t used it on other materials, so can’t comment on that, but for the price I paid, I’m very happy with two solidly made, useful punches that do what I need them to do.

I bought 2 packs of these spring loaded centre punches for in emergencies, I've put one on each bedroom window sill in case of fire.I've also use the 4th in the shed, I used it for its intended job, what a waste of time, it hardly left a mark, certainly not one I could drill into.I do not recommend this item, I wish I'd sent them back.
