I didn't know what to expect of the EMS since I've only had TENS used on me before by my first chiropractor. This little, low-cost unit is deceptively powerful and effective! I strongly advise you to follow the guide closely and definitely give yourself a few minutes at lower settings before increasing. I got this unit after researching using TENS for lower leg circulation issues. Here's what I found: Local Blood Flow: Studies have shown that TENS, especially at low frequencies (e.g., 2 Hz), can significantly increase local blood flow. For example, one study found that low-frequency TENS increased local blood flow by up to 40%. This effect is thought to be due to the release of vasodilator neuropeptides (such as substance P and CGRP), which widen blood vessels and further promote circulation. Practical Application: For lower leg circulation, pads are typically placed at the back or front of each ankle, allowing the electrical signal to pass through the muscles and circulatory system of both legs. TENS is considered safe for regular, even daily, use and can be helpful for people with mobility issues or those at risk for circulatory problems. I'm not making medical claims, just sharing what available research yields. The pads are quite comfortable and stay on if you don't move around too much. I like it's portability, so I can have it at work or on the train during my commute. It's a convenient size, about that of a later generation BlackBerry.

Works as described. Easy to set up and use. Didn't help my back pain but not the fault of the device.

I have been using it for a few months now. I'm getting addicted to it, not sure if that's a good thing, maybe it's better this than being addicted to pain killer. its very easy to use with many mode to pick. I actually prefer this wire one than those wireless one as when you have the pads on your back you can lay on your back and have the unit way from you and its small enough to fit in your pocket. I find that this does help relieve the pain instead of needing to take more painkiller. and where you have tense muscle this can help relax it, which I find reduce the chance of further injury.

Great little machine, works great and the hand held controller feels very durable. I tried my wiring from my old Tens controller that has snaps and it works perfect I have a bunch of pads left over, so when I run out of these pads that come with this one I will change over to my old wiring and use all of my snap ones
