Quality product
This resistor is identical to the original that was on the 1948 Ford 8n tractor. After installing it and replacing my ground battery cable, my tractor purrs like a kitten and when the tractor is running the battery recharges perfectly.

Perfect replacement part for my 1949 Ford 8N Tractor
I replaced my entire electrical system on my tractor from the complete wiring harness, to voltage regulator, key switch, start button, and this resistor block. This fit perfectly and works great.

Screws don’t fit, two dead in a row! But easy to fix
Screws that come with it are M6x1.0 so if you want to make an adapter plate make sure you have that goofy little tap on hand. Overall, when checking the resistance with my Fluke 117 I wasn’t getting consistent readings.EDITI installed the ballast resistor and it didn't have any continuity. I have to push the ballast resistor wire over for it to make a connection. So now it works but it was dead out of the package. Second one in a row that did not work but easy to make it work.

Tractor part
Fit my 9n tractor with a little hole drilling. Works perfect

DO NOT USE
This thing was almost impossible to install. The mounting screws were the wrong pitch, mounting holes were not spaced correctly, the poles were bigger diameter than OEM (too big for the wire terminals that attached to the old one). But the worst part was that the resistor element did not even work. It is supposed to decrease the voltage from 6 to around 3 volts. This one only dropped the volts to 5.5. YOU WILL FRY YOUR COIL IF YOU USE THIS. Promptly returned.
