Are these safe to go into the oven?

I wouln't put mine in the over. They seem to fragile to go in the over.

are they heavy like denby or much lighter and easier to carry?

They are heavy just like denby. Well made but chunky and the tin on base is tough do beware of scratching a table top. They are nice and bright perfect for Italian pasta dishes. They are also hand wash.
